I felt very well taken care of by the staff. I also particularly liked the fact that in the lobby they promote and sell handicrafts made by Cambodian persons with disabilities. It is a nice way to create awareness of and support those who are most vulnerable. Also, just down the road is a restaurant called the Lotus Blanc where the food is prepared and served by students from the PSE (Pour un sourire d'enfant) vocational training centre that supports these children who can't afford education due to poverty.
Wonderful stay at Hotel Cambodiana. Could see the Mekong River from every vantage point in room. Staff was exceptionally friendly and eager to please. By staying on 5th floor, we got free drinks and snacks in late afternoon. Enough food to skip dinner! Would recommend this hotel for everyone.
We were there in late February. The Almond Hotel is mainly business focused but is as good for leisure travellers. It is a short tuk-tuk ride from the main holiday sights and sites ($2 max, although the drivers always seem to start at $3!). The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and well serviced each day. Breakfast most days was a buffet with a mix of oriental and western foods. We did not eat in the restaurant as it seemed pricey and there are many good places to go within a five minute tuk-tuk ride or ten minute walk (quite do-able in the evening when the temperature drops below 30C).

A friend and I had spent the past 3 weeks travelling round Cambodia on a tight budget, so we decided to spend a bit more on accomodation on our last night before we got our flight home. We fell in love with the hotel as soon as we got there! The staff were amazing: spoke good English, very friendly and were able to help us with any questions we had. Room was very nice, had a good view of the street below from the balcony and we really felt like we were in the heart of the city. The airport was only a 20 minutes tuk tuk ride away and there was a market about 5 minutes walk away. Would definately reccomend due to value for money.
