“Great little hotel”
The hotel has recently been refurbished, and is very nicely decorated, clean, and tidy. The room was comfortable, spacious, and air conditioned. The Bathroom was clean and fresh. The bar and restaurant are well appointed, and the service and food and drinks are excellent.
“very impressed.”
Very satisfied with the hotel and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much and they were a mine of information, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
“Ignore the old reviews”
The hotel has been modernised now, and was a comfortable place to stay. The staff were helpful and friendly.
“Excellent place to stay”
We've recently returned from a lovely week in Portimao and would thoroughly recommend it if you are wanting to avoid the typical 'Brits abroad' resort. The hotel was excellent in every way with friendly, helpful staff, the breakfast was plentiful and varied (and included in the price), and we were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the river and bridges. The only small negative was the drain smell that wafted into the room every so often but we found that if you kept the bathroom door shut it wasn't a problem. We were unsure of how to get from the airport to the hotel as it seemed a very long way so we contacted the hotel directly with our flight details. They then organised transfers for us at a reasonable rate which was incredibly helpful as there seemed no other way of getting there (the hotel offer a shuttle but seemingly only at limited times). There was a small supermarket near the hotel which was handy for getting bits and pieces and several restaurants/cafes in the square near the hotel which offered meals other than fish if you want to escape the sardine restaurants! The nearest beach was easily walkable but there were regular buses into the small hours if you don't fancy the walk.
“just as good as last time”
friendly, helpful staff. good clean room, adequate breakfast in dining room with a lovely veiw.
“hotel was pretty good overall”
cleanliness was pretty good but not the friendliest of hotels!
“Hotel was excellent - fantastic views from the restaurant and bar”
The hotel had a very contemporary feel to it. All areas were absolutely spotless. The staff could not have been more helpful. The room was small but it did have an ensuite with a bath and shower. The restaurant where the buffet breakfast was served and also the bar were on the sixth and seventh floors from where you had fantastic views over Portimao.
“Wi-fi no-no”
Only snags - Wi-fi in lounge only and didn't always work. Luckily, cafes on the front 100 yards away had free wi-fi. Buzsiness users take note. Air-con noisy and couldn't leave windows open as nose from revellers in street outside at 2pm.
“??”
Good location, close to bus and rail links(15min walk) Pleasent and helpful staff
“Good location”
Disappointed that there wasn't free internet access. Would expect that in a 3 star hotel especially when there was free use of some spa/gym facilities.
