“Great hotel in a wonderful village”
The hotel was wonderful and the staff was super. We had a slight mixup as Expedia counts anyone under 17 as a child but the hotel didn't account for 3 in our room. They worked it out and everything was more than satisfactory and we had one of the best meals of the trip in the hotel restaurant.
“Excellent Location - Great Value”
Very friendly hotel! We booked this trip very last minute and we were happy when we arrived at 11:30 PM, that they were ready for us. They even had the baby crib we requested already set up in the room. The staff speaks English and they were happy to give us information on how to get around the area, including directions to the castles. The rooms are on the small size, but this is normal for europeon hotels. Our rate on Expedia included breakfast. It was a nice buffet with scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit, deli meats, cheeses, and a variety of breads and juices. This hotel is about a 10 - 15 minute drive to the castles. We will definitely be back this summer for another visit!
“Excellent choice!”
We stayed at this hotel for a trip to Bavaria in July 2010. The hotel is located on a strip with villas and other hotels, right across the park. Very cute, excellent view and friendly personnel. The included breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Room was clean, the only complain was the TV size :-). But keep in mind this is a 100+ years property kept in excellent shape. There is a 15 minutes walk to core Fussen, so if you want to be in the middle of the action, this might not be the best place for you. But if you are looking for a nice, quite place, a base for visiting the castles, it is an excellent choice. The personnel speaks English and were very helpful.
“Easy to find and free parking.”
Very nice! I came in the off season (November) so I might have been the only one there. Non the less the staff where more than accommodating and even had breakfast ready in the morning. I also got a discount for when I went to get tickets to Castle Neuschwanstein the next day.
“Good location by the River Lech”
There were mixed reviews for this hotel, but were prepared to take the risk as it seemed a good location away from the bustle of the town. We were not disappointed. Some of the decor was a bit dated, but added to its appeal. It was a bit tricky to find, but once we resorted to satnav we were ok! We opted for half board, which was a restricted menu, but acceptable, even if not what we might have chosen. The full menu was popular and the restaurant was buzzing. The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of food - even scrambled egg & bacon for the Brits! They had the biggest choice of cereal we have ever seen in France or Germany. The staff spoke English and were helpful regarding trips to the Schloss. We would use it again if we were in the area.
“Nice location if have car”
The hotel is in a quiet beautiful location with nice park in front and ski hills and nice trails around but need a car since 15 minute hike over the hill to this hotel with no other services around. Main problem with hotel was they charged a lot for internet and is was unbelievable slow that I wasn't even able to open my Email. Pay by each 30 minutes whether you use their one lobby computer or your own but if you have to pay it should be resonable speed. Resturant had huge servings but not great.
“Fuessen without being in the touristy town”
Hard to find but truly delightful after seeking it out. Rooms are a little 'dated' but clean & comfortable. Personnel could not have been nicer and the food was "FANTASTIC"!
“comfortable”
older/worn down interior but comfy
“No hot water”
The location of the hotel is a bit challenging in getting to the first time, but that's not a big deal. The room is comfortable but ... the hot water for the shower and basin was at best tepid. If I let the water fall on me, it was almost like having a cold shower. If it wasn't for the water, I'd recommend it and rate it more highly. It's well maintained, breakfast is served early and promptly. Oh, and Internet - it costs extra. This wasn't a big deal, just annoying. But the hot water... do not pass go!
“Disappointing experience”
This hotel has an older, kidn of run-down feel. Old furniture, linens with holes. Breakfast just adequate. There was a group of rowdy Russians staying at the hotel, who woke everybody up in the middle of the night with loud talk, swearing and singing. The hotel staff din not lift a finger to put a stop to it. Teriible attitude and service! You'd be better off staying somewhere else, and there are plenty of choices.
