“Great Base for a city break in Amsterdam”
Situated in the business sector of Amsterdam the hotel is just a 10 mins walk from the bus/tram stop (no 1 or 17). We arrived very early and was able to access our room straightaway. The room was modern, basic, and towls were changed both days we were there. The reception staff were extremley friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay again. This hotel group is the equivilent of our motorway-side hotels. 10 out 10.
“nice place that does the job”
It is about 20 minutes by tram to the city center. It is nice and rooms are comfortable and well equipped for the purpose of the hotel. We chose it coz all better deals in the city center were much more expensive, but I wouldn't mind staying there again. Jst note that the nearest tram stop to the hotel is not the one recommended by reception. You get out of the hotel putting it on your right, turn right then right again after the bridge and climb the steps on your left under the other bridge.
“Comfortable & convenient”
Great for trips to World Fashion Centre Sales !
“Nice hotel, spacious room”
Nice size room. Friendly hotel. Fairly far from downtown-10 minutes by tram to Ledseplien. 25 minutes to Dam Square. Closest tram stop is Derkinderenstadt. From Schiphol train stop is Leylaan. One tram stop from Derkinderenstadt.
“Convenient and helpful”
This hotel is quite close to 2 tram stops, affordable and the staff were very courteous and helpful with directions, considering I speak only English and didn't know my way around Amsterdam very well. The restaurant's food was very good though the service had a tendency to be on the slow side. Great continental breakfast. Free internet access was a huge plus. The main drawback was the smell of smoke in my room and in the restaurant and lobby, which as a spoiled Canadian, I am no longer used to smelling so much in a public place.
“Good VFM, Great Breakfast, Poor Bar service”
Only real drawbacks to this hotel were the two staff having to sign in guests while manning the phones and trying to work the bar-it meant service at the bar was a little slow. Also they only seemed to have about a dozen glasses, as each new order prompted them to run out from behind the bar and grab some glasses off tables to be quickly washed and filled with your beer. Location was a bit further out of the centre than anticipated and in a business district so there was nothing immediately around the hotel, but tram to the central train station was frequent and cheap. The breakfast was,as said in the title, GREAT, with plenty of choice and fresh food being brought out right until the end of the sitting, which started at 6.30 and finished at 10.30.
“I've been in worse, much worse.”
Basically a standard 3* hotel with a small bar and restaurant. The Menu is a bit limited and the service a bit slow but overall quite good. The rooms were warm and comfortable and hopefully the pile drivers will have stopped operating over the road by the time you get there. A little bit out of town but the two local tram services can get you into town and to some of the attractions, e.g. straight to the Anne Frank House.
“The place is good value for money”
The place was good value for money. Clean rooms, friendly staff etc. However, the Hotel is not too central. If you are coming home in the dark on your own you will need to take a taxi. The walk from the tram stop to the Hotel is poorly lit and involves walking next to a park and the motorway. While it is a short walk it is a little disconcerting.
“Dissapointing”
A hassle travelling to and from the city centre from this hotel, it may only be about 4 miles from town centre, however it takes ages on the tram, I was most dissapointed.
