“Great Hotel = tottaly recommended”
Fantastic hotel i totally recommend; The only things that did not satisfy myself were: 1- There are no free internet acess in the hotel (if you want to use you have to pay 22 euros for that) and even in very cheap hotels they offer that. 2 - Every morning the lady knocked my door for cleaning, that should pass latter
“great hotel”
great hotel with transport right outside in 2 city center, dont drink mini bar or get movies very expensive, would definatly stay again
“Too much fun”
The location proved to be ideal. Train station or buses within close walking distance of hotel. More importantly, the customer service was outstanding.
“Great hotel, however, a little out of the way.”
Super friendly staff. Clean, comfortable hotel. Nice pub/restaurant for a quick drink or pint. I recommend the breakfast buffet. Well worth the price. The only draw back is the 15 minute tram ride to the downtown area. However, it lies right outside the front door and is convenient enough. I would go back.
“Easy for city centre using side entrance and Tram number 4”
Many reviewers are saying it is 10 mins walk to tram stop. This is not the case if you use the side entrance. It will take only 3 minutes from there. Also the Trams leave every 10 minutes and once they leave the terminus you are in the centre within 15 minutes maximum. TIP, when leaving the airport the station you need on the TRAIN is Rai. The train will be heading for Hellivsham (something like that) But RAI is only two stops from the airport. Breakfast and wi-fi at the hotel is way over priced and the breakfast at 20 euros is a real rip off. Better food for half the price on arrival in Amsterdam city centre. Not overally impressed with expedias after holiday service. We had a complaint about baggage fees that they basically said was tough luck, we should have read the website. But I think it is not clear that charges for easyjet are double at the airport compared to paying online.
“Location was not an issue!”
This was an excellent hotel with lots of comforts. Child friendly. Polite, professional and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel was as far out from the centre of Amsterdam as you could get without falling off the tram route but it was perfect. Tram stop was outside the hotel as was the main rail and a 20 min tram ride took you into the station or anywhere inbetween. This actually benefitted the trip as you avoided the intensity of staying in more central areas (AND THE COST) and also allowed you to see other areas of the city from the comfort of your tram seat!! Plus you knew you were going home to quality accomodation on your return to the hotel. We would definately return to this hotel as a family or with friends. N.B. A taxi fare from station to hotel is roughly 25 Euros (Aug 2010) so definately worth getting a travel card at 7 Euros 24hrs 11 Euros 48hrs which can be used on rail and tram throughout your stay!
“Nice experience”
The hotel is excellent in terms of cleanliness of our room and the hotel overall, and the helfulness of the staff. However, the location of the hotel is a bit isolated, so you would need to travel to the city for food. There is tram and train station nearby the hotel, so it is convenient to go to city. In overall, it is a nice experience to stay at the Holiday Inn.
“Would stay here again”
Very convenient location. Took taxi from airport because of the luggage situation = 35 euros. You can get shuttle bus for 15.51 p.p. or take the train around 3 euros to RAI station and walk about 7 minutes to hotel. We took the tram into Amsterdam 2.60 for one hour or a day ticket for under 10. Trams stop at midnight, we took taxi back to hotel both nights, cost us between 20 and 25 euros. Hotel is just 5 minute walk to tram it takes about 15 mins to get into Dam Square and Central Station. Tram #4. When we arrived at the hotel just before 3, room not ready although check in time is 2pm. We were provided with a coupon to use at the hotel restaurant for a complimentary beverage. By 3:30 they provided us with a room because one of our party was not feeling well and lying on the couch in the lobby. The hotel was nice and quite convenient. My only problem with them was that you have to pay for internet access. 8 euros per hour or 22 euros per day! I would expect to have free access in the lobby at least. Breakfast buffet is very nice but quite expensive. I would recommend you buy something in town and bring it back for morning to save a little money. You can drink the water in the hotel however noneof the restaurants serve tap water You have to buy still or sparkling, rip off! Overall we were very happy with the hotel and the staff. We left our cases after we checked out and they kept them in a locked room for us. They also ordered a taxi to take us to the airport.
“Excellent Choice for Amsterdam”
Great hotel, great loacation, great staff, great service and great price! Amsterdam is expensive. This was by far the best choice / value for your money! The hotel is 10mins from the Airport by train (2nd stop). There is a tram right outside that will get you into the centre in 15 minutes and the route is scenic too! The tram is cheap and runs all day until midnight. No tram changes required either. After that you can get a cab to the hotel from central for 20 Euro's.The minibar, however, is very expensive! Stay away from it :)
“Great hotel”
We were lucky to get our room upgraded. Besides having to remind housekeeping to refill the tea and coffee and minibar several times. The staffs we great overall. Public transport to the city or airport is close and convenient.
