“Impressive”
staff was very friendly, although hotel was kind of pricey but so are all other hotels in amsterdam
“Great Little Hotel”
Very quaint, a little old-fashioned, but very comfortable hotel with helpful staff and close to sights and transportation. The room was comfy as were the beds. The bathroom was a little out of date, but the water was hot and everything worked. Everything was CLEAN. The breakfast buffet offered something for everyone. The hotel is close to all means of transportation. We favored the 1-Euro Hop-on, Hop-off buses. All in all a pleasant stay at good price.
“Nice, and close to the centre.”
Room was clean and comfortable, too warm at first but opening the window fixed it. Bathroom was clean, and everything worked ok. Bed was very comfortable, and a good size for two people. Only down side, the light in the room was not very bright... but the bed size light made up for this very easily. The entrance hall area decor was a little usual, a mixture of Chinese and Indian themes. Although this is probably down to the breakfast being run by some Chinese people. The breakfast food was good, all fresh and well cooked scrambled eggs, lots of bread to choose from, and cheese and ham. Fresh fruit juice, a coffee machine, and tea bags, with tiny cups (espresso size). Worth paying for though, as it kept us going for about 4-5 hours. Space for leaving luggage during the day is provide, and is free. Overall, if you want a place to crash for the night, and get breakfast, it is worth it. Not a place you would want to stay in during the day.
“Good 3 Star Hotel”
This is a good and clean 3 star hotel in a good and quiet location. The hotel has been recently updated, and the staff was pleasant.
“A bit basic but reasonably priced and convenient location”
A close walk to the city centre plus stones throw from the zoo & botanical gardens. Was disappointed that there was no minibar, however there was a vending machine on the ground floor. The room was quite noisy, as sounds from people using their bathrooms upstairs & in the hallway could be heard at all hours. The room was cleaned daily, staff friendly enough and although no air conditioning, the window could be opened so room temperature was fine.
“Very welcoming”
My brother and I and a friend stayed at this hotel for 6 days. They made 3 young welsh lads very welcome and we found all the facilities clean and breakfast was very good. It was a bit far from Dam Square but the walking did us all good. Would recommend and return
“Don't be discouraged by the area”
This little hotel was a pleasant surprise, It was clean ,cozy and had a very helpful staff. A little outdated on the furniture, bed was comfortable, breakfast was very plentiful and Delicious. close to stop and go bus {a bargain at 1 euro}. I would recommend this hotel to singles ,couples and families
“Not bad for a short stay”
The hotel's in a decent location - close to the station and a few minutes walk from the main districts. The lady on reception was efficient, but I wouldn't say welcoming, I rang to request a double room (as a twin was booked) and she came across as if I was bothering her with my request. The room was ok, it has been renovated recently, but you can tell its been done on a budget - the windows were pretty thin, but the heating was good enough to keep us warm in the chilly temperatures outside! The breakfast isnt much to shout about, and considering we chose this hotel over a couple of others because of the included breakfast, we were a little dissapointed. Still, its just a place to sleep, and being so central, and having a nice big TV to watch in bed was good. Overall had an amazing time in the Dam!
“Great Find”
Got a great deal over the weekend with expedia, I had heard some horror stories about hotels and hostels in general in Amsterdam but this one definitely put all worries to rest. Got a great size room, double bed and they got 40" plasma TVs. Buffet continental breakfast was included aswell. Had a couple things broken in the room but they were very approachable about it and fix it within the day. The place is only about 300m walk from Rembrandts house, Gassan Diamonds, Hop on Hop off tour bus at Gassan and the Train Station. Its about 1km from Rembrandt square, so its real accessible too the tourist stuff. Its far enough away from all the noise and crowd and I felt it was a safe area. Also there is a really cheap supermarket around the corner so you can always keep that fridge stocked with snacks and beer. If another good deal comes up i'd definitely look to stay there again.
“Great Hotel”
Loved everything about the hotel.Friendly staff, efficient and helpful.Breakfast good. one thing missing was a bar.Came back to hotel after a tiring day wanting a cold drink but then realised that there was no bar.
