“very impressed with the hotel layout, atmosphere and service would use again next time.”
We had a great time at the hotel and were made to feel very welcome from arrival to departure. service was first class as expected for the money. room very clean and serviced every day with a contemporary design although there was some confusion over the room booking which was sorted out very quickly by the reception staff. Breakfast was excellent with a good of choice of food available all cooked to order.the staff are very professional and were very helpful with any queries we raised. one word of advise on bike hire the bikes offered are very big and do not have conventional handle bar breaks which made it very difficult to control on the road so we decide not to hire them which again was no problem to the staff and a refund was arranged. overall i would score the hotel 9/10 (well nothing is perfect!)
“Looking forward to next visit”
Although not for the claustrophobic, this is a real gem in terms of service, convenience, and overall quality of the hotel. I will gladly return when I visit Amsterdam again.
“Great location, 4 star”
Location is in a quiet neighborhod just off the main hustle and bustle of the city. Easy access to get anywhere as Amsterdam is walking friendly. Minutes to best museums, great restaurants and coffee houses. Around the corner form the largest park in the Netherlands.
“Made to feel very very welcome.”
Lovely location, easy walking into Amsterdam centre. Rooms excellent - Remember to take your Ipod!
“lovely boutique hotel”
The staff was incredibly helpful, the space is beautifully maintained with an intimate lounge area, fire place and bar. The room is modern, beautiful bath with jacuzzi jets and very elegant. I would absolutely recommend this as an excellant boutique hotel in the perfect location to enjoy Amsterdam.
“perfect for a chilled weekend break”
great decor, relaxed setting, high-tech rooms including flat screen in bathroom. simple breakfast in bar area with views over garden. room was a little on the small size.
“Small room but....”
...Everything in the room was finished to the highest standard. iPod dock and LCD tv in bathroom (great idea), the staff were so friendly and a free welcome drink was offered upon arrival. Even though the room was small it was full of the necessities and extras! Would definitely go again!
“quiet, stylish, small”
The hotel is on a quiet street just a block of two from key attractions. Although the room was small, it was beautifully appointed with modern fixtures and accessories. Staff was very helpful. I will definitely return.
“SShhh - amsterdams best kept secret!”
I have stayed in many 'luxury' and 'boutique' hotels in my time and whilst they are lovely, they often fall short of expectations. The Roemer, however, is not one of them. Tucked away in a residential area just across the bridge from Leideplein, The Roemer welcomed us by sitting us down in front of the fire, for a complimentary drink whilst they prepared our room keys. Our room was every bit as delicious as it had appeared in the photos. The staff at the hotel go to any lengths to ensure your stay is a great one. The first room was next to the kitchen and slightly noisy (though you wouldnt be concerned for a couple of nights) but they moved us immediately upon request. The beds are so huge and comfortable that you often forgot there was anyone else in there with you (other than the snoring but can't blame the hotel for that!) Each morning, we popped the ipod into the speakers provided, made an expresso before (shut your eyes if squeamish!) jumping into the jacuzzi bath to prepare ourselves for our day in this beautiful city. The room was indeed so lovely that we found it difficult to drag ourselves away!. If you like modern and boutique, I have never seen it done better within this price range (or indeed beyond)and this is definitely the place for you. When visiting this great city again, I seriously wont stay anywhere else!
“Great location”
The hotel is in a great location if you are interested in visiting the major galleries. The room itself had an usual layout which made it seem more spacious. Great shower. The common area (with fireplace) was like being in your own living room. The one irritation was always having to ring a buzzer to get into the hotel.
