“Excellent place to stay in Takapuna”
Hospitable Comfortable Central Great facilities Have recommended it to others already
“great hotel, would use again willingly.”
we wanted an early check in, staff obliged without hesitation. excellent buffet breakfast. good secure parking easy access to public transport.
“Very impressed”
Hotel was easy to find, parking was included and was secure. Room exceeded our expectations and was very comfy. All in all we had a very pleasent stay at the hotel. Only bad points are it doesn't have free Wi Fi and on check out there was a person in front of me with a complex bill, leaving me to wait rather a long time to complete my check out as there was only one member of staff on duty.
“The perfect place to stay in Auckland!”
The (apartment) hotel is situated in the suburbs, in the N Shore area of Auckland but that's good not bad! The Takapuna shopping centre is nearby with shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Regular buses run down to the ferry terminal at Devonport, and the ferries into Auckland centre are regular, quick, and it is a pretty ride.We had a lovely 1-bedroom apartment on the 18th floor looking out across the bay to Auckland centre. Devonport is a lovely little seaside place as well.
“excellent very impressed”
excellent hotel room wonderful seperate lounge kitchen area king size bed balcony decor lovely ammenities excellent even tennis court of one floor highly recommend
“Simply put - "Great".”
Cannot fault Spencer on Byron. Greeted with a big smile at check in, offered an upgrade at a very reasonable price and never looked back from there. Superb food in the restaurant, superb service to match. Not downtown Auckland but Takapuna is still very easy to get around Auckland from. No shortage of other restaurants to eat in within 10 mins walk. It is a mainly residential suburb around a small commercial centre, 5 min walk to one of Aucklands nicest beaches. We will not hesitate to stay there again on our next visit.
“Wonderful Hotel!”
As someone who travels quite a bit it's nice to find a hotel that I can say good things about. Excellent staff, great hotel and you can't beat the view of Auckland. When I return I'll check in here again. The only negative thing I can say is that the power cord for the hair dryer is too short for a person of average heigth.
“Good Auckland View - They Really Do What They Say”
The Castle is really a high rise tower located on the bank opposite of Auckland. That makes for an impressive view of downtown Auckland, when you get a top floor room on the harbor view side. The service was good. They did whatever they said that they would. Example: I sat in some gum on a bench. It was an ugly mess. They said that they could send my pants out and remove all gum by the following day. And they did everything that they said that they would. ----- Good hotel, good service. ----
“Top Choice Just Across the Bridge”
Outstanding hotel. Although outside Auckland, it's only 10 minutes from from the city but convenient to many shops and fine restaurants there in Takapuna. Friendly staff, good facilities, very clean and comfortable. This was my second stay and I wouldn't think of choosing another hotel when I next visit Auckland.
