The view was breathtaking, and the location optimum. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here if I'm in Auckland again.

“Good value comfort”

I booked the last two nights of my NZ holiday at the Mercure because: most reviews were positive, it was close to the Britomart train station (5 minute walk to hotel), iclose to ferry terminals,Viaduct Harbour and rate quoted competitive. I booked a Queen bed room with Harbour view - upgraded on arrival to a suite on 11th Floor with harbour view. Room very spacious, neutrally furnished, clean,comfortable. Aircon worked and was quiet.TV selection on Sky was limited. Lobby under refurbishment and restrictions meant congestion.Service was always efficient and friendly. Top floor restaurant has a stunning view harbour.view. A late meal was cheerfully served and delicious.Buffet breakfast good value but I ate more simply at a local cafe. Hotel ivery well placed for transport links with Citylink and Airport bus stops only a few minutes walk. Harbourside attractions, sghops cafes etc all close by. I checked out early leaving luggage in storage until 6pm and it was carefully labelled and quickly retrieved.The Mercure gave me a comfortable base, was good value and I will certainly stay there again when I next visit in 2011.

“Excellent location”

The Auckland Mercure is a very good international hotel in an excellent location I cannot comment on the food as I didn't eat at the Hotel but there are plenty of eateries very close by and most of Aucklands attractions are within easy walking distance.

“Best location and very reasonable!”

The hotel's location was truly perfect for a stay in Auckland, being walking distance from the cruise terminal and also adjacent to a major bus terminal. The hotel's lobby is apparently undergoing renovation, but I wasn't affected in my room at all. I really enjoyed the bay window (which opened) overlooking town. An excellent value.

“Good location, decent hotel, nice staff”

A good choice. The rooms are OK- good size, but a tiny bit of wear. Nothing major. The air conditioning was a bit noisy and not very effective, but was also OK. They have a decent gym with great views to the harbour. I would definately stay there again

“Great place with best location”

Hotel has comfortable room with great view (upper levels). Also a very good restaurant with superb harbor views. Ask for room upgrade with reduction of full breakfast cost included. Right next to Britomart, local transportation hub.

“Great Auckland Hotel”

Great hotel just off Queen St and right in the action. Rooms have double windows to minimise city noises. Have stayed their 4 times in last 9 months. Latest stay received a free upgrade: hotel used by bus companies so freestyle travellers like us can gain the benefit! The restaurant is really sensational! Prices are OK but food was really excellent. Great views, if it isn't raining! Contacted front desk twice is our stays: first was no remote for TV: delivered to from within 5 minutes. Second time was for an extension cord to reach my sleep apnea machine: recived in 20 seconds! Great location to Skytower and tourist wharf area. When in Auckland, will always stay here!

“Can't wait to go back”

We arrived in Ackland at 4.30 am after a long day/night of traveling, and we did not have a check in till 2pm that day, so on arrival to drop off our bags at the hotel we where offered a room straight away at no cost to us, so in this day when you hardly get anything for nothing we where most impressed.
