“Will be our hotel of choice in Barbados!!”
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere and excellent location! Definitely bring/get groceries for there are kitchenettes in every room (I believe) and dining out every night gets expensive. Would recommend to friends and family, and we now consider the Dover Beach Hotel our "home away from home" while in Barbados!
“Planning my next trip to Barbados”
I enjoyed my stay at the Dover Beach Hotel. I slept with my sliding glass door open everynight so I could listen to the waves. My only complaint was the door to my room did not close securely enough for me and I had to put a chair up to the door at night. Will I stay there again...yes I will.
“basic, but everything we needed”
The hotel was nothing special but it was nice enough. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. We stayed here because the price was so good and we basically got what we paid for. We didn't expect anything fancy but we were happy with what we had. The only thing was the bed was two twin beds pushed together which annoyed me at first but it didn't turn out to be a problem or uncomfortable, so it was fine. The hotel room was very big, with a nice balcony and a small amount of kitchen supplies. One tiny detail that bothered me was that there was a kettle and coffee cups but they didn't provide any coffee. The pool area was nice and the beach was nice as well, although you're not supposed to take the hotel lounge chairs onto the beach. I didn't mind because I normally lay on a towel on the beach but I can see that being an inconvenience to others. We were there during a very quiet time, the hotel staff said June and September are their quietest months. We liked the location of the hotel because there are bars and restaurants down the road. There are a few that are about a 5 minute walk and then there's even more that are about 15 minutes down the road. We enjoyed this because we just walked around every night going to dinner and then to bars. Locals approached us on the street everytime we were out there, trying to sell us everything they could. It was a little annoying but they stopped as soon as we said we weren't interested. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.
“Quiet spot, excellent Service”
From the time we arrived until the moment we left, we felt welcomed. The staff at this hotel go out of their way to help their visitors with anything they can. The housekeeping staff kept our room spotless and well stocked. We ate breakffast every day and Andrew makes a mean French Toast and is a very personable young man. The rest of the staff is always ready with a hello when they meet you. There is always a security guard on duty, giving that extra level of comfort, even though the hotel is located at the quiet end of the gap and semi secluded. The pool is warm and inviting and the adjacent beach is clean and pretty secluded. I am sure we will be returning to this hotel in the future
“Lovely time”
The staff at this hotel were great. From i walk into the door the reception was friendly and welcoming. The location was great it was close to everything or a short taxi ride. We went to the beach every day and was involve in alot of tours. I stayed on the first floor so had to kept my curtain close for privacy. There are plenty of restaurants close by. I would definitely recommed this hotel
“Dover beach hotel Amazing!!”
stayed here during the middle of march the hotel is great right on the beach front, easy to go for a swim in the sea the beach nice and quiet too. the pool area wasnt too busy either always found somewhere to sunbathe. they have a bar area which offers snacks at a reasonable price and really nice, had fish cakes and chicken wings. on certain hours offer happy hour on soft drinks beer and local spirits we got upgraded to a pool view room when we got to hotel. very family run hotel all staff friendly, esp the activites manager who you book trips with very helpful lady i would definatly stay here again i would never do all inclusive this was a good hotel for price and everything it offers
“next time i will go to dover beach hotel as well”
very good castamer service. people are very nice, helpfull and fery friendly. is very relax. the best holiday only in this hotel
“Nice!!!”
I tend to judge my hotels by the quickness of the room being cleaned and this one was great. As a business trip I was back and forth to the hotel and my room appeared to have been cleaned as soon as possible...made my afternoons more relaxing knowing the cleaning staff had already done their job.
“I highly recommend this hotel and location!”
The Dover was very clean and practical with kitchenettes at an excellent location for swimming in the waves. The staff were kind and helpful and anything required was attended to right away. I highly recommend this hotel and would go back.
“Great Hotel!!”
I have to say that this hotel was one of the best I've stayed at in the gap. The room easily accommodated myself and my 2 daughters. The kitchen area was spacious as was the bathroom and balcony. The hotel was spotless and swim towels provided. The pool and beach were easily accessible from the hotel - one word of caution, watch out for the jewelery sellers!! The courtesy bus into Bridgetown took the hassle out of getting in and out of Bridgetown. The walk from the hotel to the Gap's restaurants and pubs was a bit hazardous at times - definite spots along the route that required a bit of avoidance of eye contact and speed walking. A lady had her handbag stolen near one of the pubs during the day. The hotel is fabulous and everyone friendly especially during hurricane Tomas - there was a great camaraderie whilst it was going on. Thoroughly recommend the hotel.
