“comfy stay”
hotel was very modern, very clean. small room, but enough to rest comfortably. it was just a few minutes from main streets. we walked every day to plaza cataluña, stopped for breakfast on our way. Walking back was nice too.

“Second Stay-and sure we'll be back”
We stayed here last year and were so happy we returned! The hotel is modern and clean, staff all speak perfect english and the rooms are gorgeous, like an apartment! The rooms are also soundproof from traffic outside, although you do here a bit from other guest but it's very little noise! The hotel is a very short walk to metro which is brilliant for seeing the city, we did walk to the port one night which took about 20-30 mins, just have a good map! Also walking back to the hotel late at night felt very safe which is a real plus. Would highly recommend this hotel great for exploring the city, relaxing and the spa comes in handy for tired legs! I'm sure we'll be returning again next year!
“Strongly recommend”
The hotel advertises free wireless Internet. When we had trouble connecting in our room, the front desk personnel offered us an Ethernet cord to connect more easily. Although we had power converters because we are from the US, we neglected to bring one with a ground. No problem, the hotel employees were able to loan us one. Our room was quiet and comfortable with a television that had programs in English. The only thing we would have liked -- and the hotel has no control over this -- there were not a lot of restaurants in the area. We did find a very nice Italian restaurant northeast of the hotel a couple blocks. We would stay there again -- mostly because of the great service.
“Great stay in Barcelona”
This lovely understated hotel is in a quiet street within walking distance of main tourist areas and great restaurants. Staff were friendly and charming. We took breakfast there one morning which was as good as we've had anywhere. The hotel was full on our first night so they upgraded us to a suite on the top floor- Brilliant!

-Nice, modern stylish hotel. Very clean. Wooden floor(no bugs to worry about) -Wireless internet wasn't working in our room. We were too far away from the access point. Public use comp available at each level. But if you want wireless, request a room in the front building. -Swimming pool, spa, hot bath in the hotel -2 subway/underground/metro stops or 15 mins walk from Plaza Cataluya and Las Rambla. I preferred walk at least once in the nice beautiful quiet neighborhood.
“A great base from which to explore”
Acevi Villaroel is a new hotel just outside the main tourist area with excellent staff, most of which had very good English, which was helpful as we had no Catalan. Decor is swish and modern; oak floors and panels, marble bathrooms with good quality fittings, sink is trendy glass that I am glad I didn't have to clean, bed linen is all cotton and mattresses very comfortable. Restaurant and bar in the hotel were stylish and most staff were friendly. Menu was short but adequate and food was cooked nicely. Service was a bit mixed, charming, efficient young lady and surly, slow young man on the two occasions we ate there.
