“Great Hotel”
Very good hotel! We were given room 420 which was extremely hot and when we talked to the front desk we were upgraded to a larger room which was a lot cooler. Truly enjoyed my time.
“Wonderful Hotel”
This was our first trip to Spain and we don't speak the language. The staff at the Astoria Hotel was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The room was spacious and also very clean. The Astoria Hotel is right in the city near all the restaurants and attractions. I will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Barcelona Spain.
“A small gem adding to our pleasure of being in Barcelona.”
The Astoriain in Barcelona is the perfect hotel experience with courteous, helpful staff, sparkiling clean room tastefully furnished, convenient location. We felt as though we had scored a coup in finding this hotel (with the help of Expedia) at such a reasonable price. It was close to a small grocery store, excellent restaurants, the Ramblas, the Hop On, Hop Off tour bus. The staff even helped us save money by calling an oversized taxi the morning we left enabling four of us to share our ride to the airport!
“European charm”
We were back at the Astoria for the fourth time ! It has been extensively renovated in the last few years and the staff is charming and helpful. They offer a good European breakfast in the morning and for dinner there is a wonderful restaurant next door El Trobador. It is in a quiet neighborhood but you are a short walk away from the subway which is a safe way to travel in Barcelona. We also walked to the Ramblas and the waterfront but it is a long walk ( 1 mile to Ramblas, another for waterfront). We came early and the staff which is very pleasant stored our luggage in a locked facility even writing fragile on one of my bags. We had a studio room on the 8th floor, it was small but had an attic with couch and TV. We also were next to the terrace which has a small pool with furniture and a splendid view of the city. Our friends had a larger room on the 3rd floor which was just beautiful. Both had advantages and everyone was pleased.
“Great Place”
We really enjoyed the couple of nights we stayed at this Hotel. It is nothing fancy but we felt safe and the accomodations are excelent. The area around the Hotel let us experience Spain as a local. A great neighborhood with some local hang-outs. Located blocks from the high-end shopping district and a little longer walk to the heart of Las Rambla.

“Astoria - Great Location”
The location of the hotel was superb. it was very close to diagonal and passeig de gracia which are 2 very famous and very nice streets (excellent shopping) I was there to buy my wedding dress and all wedding gown stores were walking distance from the hotel :) :) The hotel room was not very fancy but was clean. I recommend this hotel to anyone who will not spend most of their stay in the room. We used it only for sleeping :) so the only thing that really mattered was the cleanliness and that was provided.
“Excellent & Affordable, no complaints”
My sister and I LOVED this hotel. The rooms were a nice size and clean, and the housekeeper was amazing. The staff was really friendly, helpful, and always gave great recommendations. There is staff there 24/7 so you can call them at anytime for anything! The location was just the right amount of quiet and distance from other areas. I was VERY happy to have stayed in this area vs. the Las Ramblas area that is very loud. It was a great bonus to have computers with internet that is open 24/7. And if you are an art buff, there is supposed to be great art (I didn't really look in to it). Breakfast is not included, but there are so many places to walk to right near the hotel.

the roof top sun terrace & pool was a real bonus in a city centre hotel the ground floor public rooms where quite grand too especiallly liked the art show & the art nouveau posters & statues reception staff where very helpfull too
