“We've been back once, we'll go again...!”
Husa Pedralbes is a great hotel, without bludgeoning you around the head about it. It's quietly good, not over-stylishly hip, but solidly comfortable - exactly what you want for a short break. It's convenient for some really lovely, quiet suburban areas of Barcelona that are well worth exploring, and whilst it might not be *right* in the thick of the city centre, that makes for a cheaper stay, and anyway, the Maria Cristina Metro stop is between 5 and 10 minutes' walk away, and everything is easily accessible from there. It's hard to find any negatives: the breakfast is perhaps a tad on the pricey side and a little underwhelming at that, but that doesn't really irk, as the surrounding area is packed with funky cafés and artisan bakeries - there are two literally within two minutes of the hotel door, and others further afield - so that isn't really a problem. If I was being *really* picky, I'd say the decor is ever so slightly faded on some of the upper floors, but I have to really dig to even come with this comment, and it doesn't apply to the rooms. We've now stayed here twice, and on both occasions I've been surprised that the rooms are furnished to such a high standard in what is supposedly a three-star hotel - they seem of better quality than that. In short, Husa Pedralbes won't overwhelm you with its stunning beauty or romantic qualities, but if you want a comfortable, affordable, quietly impressive hotel in a leafy part of Barcelona, this is for you. We'll be back!
“Good Neighborhood; Non-smoking rule not enforced”
It's a non-smoking hotel but they allow smoking. This makes me wonder if the smoke detectors work. And the Internet service is very poor and spotty. Pleasant, clean, and in a very upscale neighborhood. Easy walk to Metro and train.
“Overall a pleasant stay”
Very clean with comfortable rooms and nice en suite facilities. The lack of a bar and restaurant was slightly inconvenient and, although the staff were very friendly and polite, the service wasn't great. All in all it was a nice place to stay and would consider staying again
“Not impressed”
Room was extremely small. Bizarre parking facilities up the street. Rude reception on our arrival (although the attendants on subsequent days were actually quite helpful and pleasant).
“A clean but very small hotel.”
Hotel itself is very clean, but it is very small, the rooms are tiny. Expedia lists the hotel as being 1.5miles from Las Ramblas, this is incorrect, it is more like 6 miles. The tube station (Maria Christina) is also more like 400m away and it is a long uphill walk to back to the hotel. The location is very quiet and seemed like an upscale part of the city, it felt very safe there. Also there is another Husa hotel on the same road which is about 150m from the station, this is not that hotel, this hotel is about couple of hundred meters up the road. The hotel staff seemed ok, but not that friendly, on signing out they didnt even thank me for staying. All I got was a "ok thats it" and he went back to his computer. Personally I wouldnt stay at this hotel again as it is too far from the center of the city and at least a 25min metro journey (which can get very crowded).
