“Dissapointed!”
Hotel run down and most services unavailable such as yoga. Only two restaurants available and service and food average at best. Pool, spas and rooms are very tired and need renovation. On arrival a/c in one room did not work and the room was very smelly. A/c was not repaired until following day so room was not used 1st night. Hotel staff offered no real solution 1st night. Highlight was Lebonese restaurant which had much better service and food but no children's menu. Would not stay there again. 3 star hotel at best!
“A bit of good, a bit of bad...”
We spent 4 nights (November 2011) at the Al Nadha Resort & Spa. The hotel is a very large complex with a beautiful swimming pool, nice dining area and beautifully landscaped. It is near Barka and so is off the beaten path. Staff at the hotel are incredibly kind but seem to have trouble with follow through. We had to have our key 'fixed' at least 3 times and this process left us waiting outside our room for 15-30 minutes during which time we needed to follow up! Although there were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children) we had to request extra beds, extra towels, etc. My advice is to enjoy this beautiful resort but bring along a LOT of patience. One great asset to the Al Nadha Resort is Rasheed who works at the front desk and gave us great advice on sights to see/do around the area. He made our stay terrific.
“Interesting but needs a lot work”
Large and well planted resort outside of the civilized world in the mid of the desert , about an hour from Muscat. Has nice infrastructure but the staffing is grossly insufficient and seems the ownership is going cheap on that front. Food and Health Spas are high quality . Pool nice but water is muggy. Transportation to and from resort to Muscat or airport very shoddy . It is a good place to go if you want to be alone and out of touch of civilization for a while.
“A Health Retreat in the making”
Al Nahda Health Resort is a very beautiful landscaped open hotel. The hotel has many footpaths and facilities for the resoration of health. Try the deep tissue massage or the indian head massage at one of the 24 relaxation rooms. The pool is big and very enjoyable for a relaxing getaway by couples. Yoga is also available in a huge relaxation room built underground that is away from all the noise and you can go there to meditate, if that's your thing. The Hotel service is less than satisfactory however, with new management trying to ome to grips with operating the hotel. Many staff are not trained adequately to deal with Hotel Guests requests. Some examples of poor service are hotel food trays being left outside for more than a day, Buggys not being on time, Inconsistency with the food quality. Bad maintenance on many of the bicycles, that you can freely ride around on. Worst experience was the pool Bar Staff perssonal not knowing what a sparkling water was!!!The Reception service is absoloutely appaling and many staff are not empowered to make the intiative. The Villa rooms are very beautifully decorated and one can expect complete privacy and comfort in what is an excellent king Size bed with a very nice ambience. All in All a beautiful looking hotel and surroundings but the Hotel service and leve of training by the Hotel Staff is less than satisfactory.
“A disaster!”
In 3 days I was moved 4 times because of all the defects in the rooms. Housekeeping very slow, bad service, rooms were not made up properly. No daily clean sheets in this expensive 5* resort! Gardens not well kept: garbage, broken bikes, fallen branches and lots of leaves. Floors tenniscourts full of empty bottles and carton cups, fences are broken. Only 2 of the 4 restaurants were open. No attendant at fitness center, children were ruining the place. Al Nahda is only 3 years old, in another 3 years this resort will be ruined with this very bad management. In this large resort guests can be transported with chauffeur driven buggies, but it takes a long time before we were picked up. There are also bicycles, but almost all of them were broken and parked in a large area. Finally we found somewhat reasonable bikes, but soon they were taken by others, even when we parked them inside the garden of the Arabian restaurant. Sent a letter with our complaints to the general manager. No reaction. Also no feed back after writing comment form. Al Nahda is not recommendable at all...! We were glad to leave.
