“Great ambience”

Great ambience but need to be there early for off street parking

“Closed noon to 2:00. So, plan accordingly.”

The location on the Loire and the views are superb. As is decor of the lobby and the rest of the first floor. That said, the room was very dated, the carpet in terrible shape, the waste baskets without liners, the T.V. reception all but non-existent. But our biggest disappointment is this. The hotel is closed, daily, from noon to 2:00 PM. Now I know this is France where businesses close mid-day, but in the hospitality industry this is (or should be) unthinkable. We asked if we could store our luggage during our check-out day while we explored the area, but were told, No, as the hotel would be closed when we planned to return. It seems impossible that a hotel as large as this one, with a staff as large as it has, cannot assign a single person to man the front desk during those two hours.

“Small and friendly”

A good hotel, full of character, let down by the fact that evening meals are no longer available. The location is noisy if you keep the windows open at night due to traffic.
