“Hotel experience”
Hotel very pleasant, staff very helpful and friendly always willing to help. Food very tasty and exquisite. I would stay here again highly recommended.
“Great Hotel, Great city!!!”
Stayed in mid october and had a great holiday, Hotel is great, really good service and very friendly. Hotel staff speak enough english for you to be able to book taxi's etc. This is a great base for city holiday. Beijing is amazing so If you haven't been before you are in for a treat!
“BCC Great Wall Walk”
Stayed here to meet with a group who had done a charity walk on the Great Wall so did not choose the hotel myself. The hotel is a little out from the central sites but the underground is local once you can find your way, and cheap and easy to use. Rooms are clean and well serviced although bathrooms are old-hot water no problem though. Had a problem booking trips with business centre as very few of their staff understand English - bit of a handicap but find a staff member who can act as a go-between.NB-The acrobat show is at a school of acrobats which was good but not quite what I expected. Also be sure to check whether trips include transport as this did not-got lost in translation! The breakfast buffet is great-not included in booking but worth the extra charge.
“Satisfied”
The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. Within walking distance of shopping. The beds were hard but we slept well in the dark room. No hair dryer as stated. I would return there.
“Very nice and close to exhibition Center”
It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel, it is very convenient to be attending the exchibition at the Beijing Exhibition Center, it is also near to a shopping center that has other restaurants and shops, including a supermarket in the Basement, this store called Ito Yokado is very convenient for the business traveller.
“It was clean and good hotel, never had problem, the location is good I would go back. very satisfied”
Very good hotel, near shopping centres, the zoo and exhibition centre. McDonald and KFC chicken are near by. very satisfied with the morning buffet, was good .For the price I highly recomend it.
“A 3-star hotel, ideal for a short visit but no more than 3 days”
I was surprised by the spotless reception and the 4 staff on duty. They made every attempt to welcome and assist me. The bar was warm and welcoming next to a comprehensive gift shop. Pleased, I headed up to my room. Oh dear. Although a good size, the aircon was not working, the heating was set too high and the windows did not open very far. The state of the bathroom could best be described as VERY old, yet polished and cleaned each day. It stood out a mile as not matching the standard of the rest of the hotel. I then went to the Russian restaurant for dinner, this was reasonably priced, reasonable good food. Nothing to write home about, but 3* standard. Location is good, there is a department store over the road at the end of the entrance, a picturesque lake to look at. You can swim and fish in it but from the oily scum around the edges, I wouldn't bother. Macdonalds across the road is a little bit of the West, also as you get to the main road, there is a little bakery on the left hand corner which sells delicious snacks and, importantly, bottled water at 15pence to save you paying for the overpriced stuff in the hotel. As I drink 4-6 bottles a day, this does add up. Television was quite complicated, internet ok and taxi availability excellent and cheap. Money changing was reasonably priced although slow and the reception staff were able to handle all my queries.
“Not impressive, but not expensive either”
Tucked away between the Soviet-style exposition hall (home of the Beijing Philharmonic) and a little park heavily used by locals, this aging hotel is not bad, but is no 4 or 5 star experience. If you need an inexpensive, central place to stay in Beijing, it will do just fine. It's about a six block walk to a major subway station.
“not a tourist hotel...”
It is good only for people who are interested in the exhibition center
“Could be better”
The hotel was clean and the lobby attractive. The physical condition of the room we got was unsatisfactory. There was a musty odor as if the room had been wet and closed up and there were streaks in the paint on the wall as if the walls had been scraped in places and repainted in spots. The towels were treadbare and did nothing for the absorbsion of water. The staff was pleasant for the most part but communication was difficult as only one member of staff had conversational English. The most upsetting thing was that we left our luggage in storage for a few hours after we checked out and found out that our luggage was searched after we left and without us being told that it was required. When i sought an explanation members of staff were mute.
