“I'll be back”
Hotel, in the heart if the city, with clean rooms and friendly staffers is great place to stay for reasonable price. Since Belfast is quite a small city, everything is easily reachable from this hotel, including bus link to both airports. Looking forward to go back to Belfast and exploring more of N. Ireland.
“Best choice for saving money!”
The location is really good in the citycentre. And we had a lovely stay there. The stuff are warm.
“convenient location, great staff, good cheap room”
Closley located to Europa Bus Station (for busses from airport) Staff were so friendly and really went out of there way to make us feel welcome. the room was a reasonable size, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. the tv signal was not too great, but you dont go away to watch tv. reasonable price for such a central location. wish we stayed another night. more than we expected from a travel lodge.
“Just as Expected”
This hotel was no better - but no worse - than I expected. Yes, there was some noise from the bars just outside of the hotel, but this was to be expected in such a central location. Unfortunately, we had to ask to be moved from the first room we were given due to the noise coming from a pipe located just outside of our window. When I went to reception at 5am to ask to be switched rooms the gentleman on the desk was very understanding and explained that it was probably the air conditioning system. When we returned to reception the next day to collect the key for the new room there was no fuss. Both rooms were clean and the chamber maid offered us towels on the days when we decided to have a long lie. I found the servicing of the room to be thorough and non-intrusive. The shower in both rooms was powerful enough, though in the first the shower head could not be moved which was a bit inconvenient if, like me, you're short! The television and lights worked and there were two good sized mirrors. No fancy extras, but I knew this was a no-frills hotel. All in all, a fantastic and safe location, friendly staff and good value. We could have booked one of the four star hotels, but we felt at ease in the Travel Lodge and able to come and go as we pleased. The area is full of excellent places to eat, especially the Lebanese Restaurant, Byblos, across the square. The food was excellent and there is no corkage charge (one of the staff even pointed out the off-licence across the road!)
“Noisey neighbours”
I suppose you get what you pay for. I had a splitting headache and gone to bed early after a concert. Two girls next door woke me when they came in, as the walls were paper thin. They kept up their loud, foul mouthed ranting until 4.00, ringing their friends and vice-versa. Next morning two hoodies were checking in with their underage girlfriends and I was thankful I didn't have them next door instead. When I went to flush my toilet I noticed what I thought was rust on the handle. Never saw those things rust before, I thought. Could it be excrement? A quick rub with damp tissue revealed that it was not rust! On my way to check-out I shared the lift with the cleaner. She was such a lovely girl and since the rest of my room/bathroom was spotless, I did not report the “matter”. To sum up, the hotel attracts a young crowd who are out to party. It was warm, basically clean and brilliantly situated between the train station and the beer fest in the Ulster Hall! Wetherspoons is nearby for breakfast.
“excellent location”
This hotel is reasonably basic but is good value and brilliantly located for the centre of Belfast. There is also a nice attached restaurant which does a very good value breakfast. The staff were friendly. The only two issues we had were that our room was not serviced on the first day and that the internet connected computer in the lobby had been broken by a customer and not yet mended
“Affortable Hotel in the heart of the city”
For the price and after reading other reviews I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean modern room with a good sized bathroom. The location was probably the biggest advantage, as it is right next to Donegall Square, downtown shopping, and several pubs. They have wireless internet, but the cost is not included with the room. The bathroom was a good size. The showers were big enough to fit a person bigger than a leprechaun, but probably not big enough for a person of significant girth. The shower head was mounted reasonably high, but a little ducking is required for people 6' and up - nothing new to tall folks. Noise, neighbors, etc: Here's the deal - this place is pretty cheap and it's within 3 blocks of a dozen bars. That means that people that like drinking and making noise will be close by. It also means that it's a pretty great place for young party-goers to stay when on vacation. If you are here on a Friday or Saturday, there will be loud people outside and there is a good chance that as the night/morning wears on, many of them will make their way back to the hotel rooms near you. If you are a light sleeper and you don't want to be bothered by young folks, you may not want to stay here weekends or holidays.
“It was OK for what I needed it for”
I needed a cheap place near to the Europa Bus Station and hotel, and it performed the job adequately. One stained towel, and a missing bath mat, but the spare towels made up for this. The originals were swiftly replaced. For that matter, everything I asked for was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The 'continental' breakfast in the restaurant next door was convenient and perfectly OK, and not nearly as expensive as at many other places I have met. It's not luxurious, but then it's a Travelodge. What do you expect?
“Not a bad deal.”
If you are comfortable with a "hostel" level of service this hotel is fine. The bathroom was clean with good shower/tub and loads of hot water. Beds were good and overall a great place for my needs. The rooms are not "made up" on a daily basis, only if your stay is longer than 2 days. This did not bother me. Location was great - right in central area with great pubs and restaurants all around as well as great historical landmarks to visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not expecting a 4-5 star treatment but simply looking for a clean place to lay your head.
“Basic but well situated”
Situated in the city centre, this hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are looking for somewhere cheap and clean. Its 5mins walk from the bus station, 10mins to the Victoria Centre. Rooms are small but clean, with bathroom,TV & tea and coffee making facilities. It can be a little noisy at night if you have a room at the front of the hotel - but not enough to keep us awake, even with the window open. The adjacent restaurant is a good place for breakfast.
