No free parking
We needed to wait for a long time for someone to open the main door both at the time of arrival and during check out. The page of the hotel advertise free parking but it wasn't. The "free" parking was on the street and only during the night. When we asked for a longer parking place the hotel charged us 10€. The staff was very nice and polite despite those problems!

There is no unique about this apartment room. Shower area is tiny, thing inside the room are old. Power trip if you turn on your AC and washer. Between this apartment and the hotel reception is more than 5 minutes walk. To the train station at least 15mins

Charming apartment stay
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment with comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Kitchen sparsely equipped but hotel happy to help with anything needed. The apartment was up near to the old city and has a bakery next door, however it is up quite a climb - not a problem for us but would have been if we'd been less able, had a wheelchair etc etc. The hotel staff were lovely and happy to help out when we wanted extra pillows

Amazing Hotel for the perfect stay.
Amazing helpful staff and good location. Breakfast was amazing for continental and staff could do not do enough for guests. This hotel should be nothing short of 4 star. Rooms were clean, staff were knowledgeable about local area and any questions we had and went out their way to make sure we had everything we needed for the perfect stay. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bergamo, it was perfect.

Charming Experience!
Castellana hotel/apartments are so charming. Centrally located. Close to everything. A lovely experience in Bergamo. Kitchen and laundry were en suite! We felt very lucky to have found such a lovely place to stay!

Very small bedroom
I have mixed feelings about La Castellana but lean more towards not returning there again. The room we were given was very small with practically no natural lighting so it had a claustrophobic feeling. So the room was dominated by a large bed and it had awful lumpy pillows that I coyld not get myself comfortable with throughout the night as I tried to sleep! No room to open luggage or even walk around in the room other than escape to a normal size bathroom! No chairs or any furniture other than tiny end tables. Just not what we had experienced in other hotels in the rest of our travels in Italy. The owner is a very lovely woman however. Also the room was very clean. We were happy we only had one night to stay in that room and were glad to leave. Sorry but this was our experience.

We only stayed for one night but the service was exceptionel and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Only negative was that it was a bit hard to get parking, but we arrived very late. If you arrive earlier I think it would be ok.

Saved our holiday
When we realized we had lost our credit card we tried calling the contact phone numbers but could not get through....Irene, the leader of this lovely, family run hotel, solved the problem and in a short time we could relax and continue without worrying.

A great place to stay
Excellent location within walking distance of old and newer city sights. Staff very knowledegable about the city and eager to advise. A personal down-side is that our room had very high up windows so was a little claustrophobic for us. However, we would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel with historic furnishings
The negatives first: there is no parking close to the hotel (though baggage unloading at the hotel is permitted); the room rate does not correspond with the Expedia rate. But the positives far outweigh the negatives. The rooms are beautifully decorated but comfortable, the beds are great for clients with bad backs, the staff is friendly and efficient, the breakfast is a wonderful melange of basics and exotic, the hotel is very convenient for both the old town on the rock and the new town shopping. All in all a memorable stay and we will DEFINITELY go back.

Almost perfect with some notableexceptions
The room in the Mignon suite was advertised as a small suite, with kitchen and lounge facilities, but our ground floor room had neither kitchen nor lounge. It would have been excellent except there were no windows. only very high rooflights. The comfort was seriously marred by the use of nylon sheets (didnt think you could get these anymore!) which contributed to an uncomfortable and interrupted night.. Good value breakfast and immaculate Italian bathroom fittings made up for this shortcoming.

Warm anf Friendly staff, beautiful location in the very center of bergamo, newly renovated with high end finishing. Will definitely and with no hesitation go again. Rich breakfast and really got the feeling of a high stars hotel.

My baby son and I stayed for 2 nights while in Bergamo for a friend's wedding. The hotel was in a really convenient location, and Irene (and her family) made us feel very welcome. Really enjoyed staying there, and would definitely recommend it to friends, and stay there again if/when we return to Bergamo.

Great city, mediocre apartment.
Our stay in Bergamo was just great. La Castellana was nicely placed in Cita Bassa, 25 min. walk from Citta Alta. The apartment was on the 3rd. floor with no lift. It's layout was very strange, and so was the interior. There was hardly any glasses, plates or cutlery, which was a minus. The staff was nice and helpful when we were in need of assistance. We will definetely return to Bergamo, but not to La Castellana.

El lugar donde nos laojaron no tiene nada que ver con las fotos. Yo en un principio pensaba que era una habitación de hotel, al recibir la confirmación ponía partamento, bueno eso me da igual, pero desde luego el lugar no se corresponde con la calida que tenía la recepción.Nos recibió el personal de limpieza y tenían bastantes problemas con la comunicación en inglés. Al ir a pagar la tasa turística sólo acepatabn efectivo y no tenían cambios, lo cual supuso un problema. Que decir de la limpieza del "apartamento", mas bien no limpieza y muy mal olor a desagüe. No reomendaría este lugar a nadie, a no ser que te dejen dormir en la recepción que si que estaba limpia y cuidada al detalle.

Perfecto!
La experiencia a sido de 10 en todo momento. El hotel se encuentra muy bien ubicado y las instalaciones son nuevas y están muy limpias. Los chicos de recepción muy atentos, la chica que nos recibió nos ayuda a hacer una guía para ver las cosas más importantes y nos recomendó sitios para comer y cenar que nos encantaron. En definitiva si vuelvo a Bérgamo volvería a ir a este hotel seguro.

Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Der Zustand des Appartements durchschnittlich und eher alt. Der Strassenlärm lässt einem bis Mitternacht nicht schlafen und um 6.30 wird man durch Baustellenlärm der in der Gasse wiederhallt geweckt.

Com o atraso do vôo para Milão chegamos com 20 minutos após o horário do check-in e fui cobrado em 20 euros por isso , acho que poderia ser relevado. O hotel é muito bem localizado , porém para chegar de carro é problemático pois fica em uma ZTL. O quarto é amplo e confortável , porém o aquecimento deixou a desejar , passamos frio. Banheiro muito confortável. Não tomamos o café , pois é muito caro pelo que oferece. Como hotel de charme é válido , mas não recomendo como hospedagem tradicional. Os funcionários foram educados e prestativos.

La Castellana er et hotell med rom og leiligheter innenfor et lite område av Bergamo, altså fordelt på flere bygninger. Vi bodde i en romslig, gjennomgående leilighet med to soverom, stue, kjøkken, flott bad og to verandaer. Irene som driver hotellet tok oss godt i mot og fungerte også som en fortreffelig guide ved ankomst. Hun ga oss gode tips til hva som var verdt å se og hvilke restauranter som var verdt å besøke. Anbefaler Bergamo og La Castellana på det varmeste.
