Couldn't wait to leave!
This would have to be the worst place we have stayed. Hallways smelled like wet dog. We were on the 4th floor so not as bad up there but still an odd smell. We didn't have all the linen we needed for our room and the pillows were just lumpy messes. We had to ask for access for the kitchen but were not told you could get pots and pans from reception. There were about 3 plates in the kitchen so we figured you needed your own gear since it was a hostel. All our food was stolen out of the fridge anyway. Our keycards continually stopped working and reception seemed annoyed we were locked out on multiple occasions. Not our fault?! Tried to do laundry, downloaded the app, loaded credit card but couldn't even get the machines to turn on. Staff had no idea and didn't seem to care anyway. Couldn't wait to leave - the pictures look nothing like the room you actually get.

Good size family room with separate en/suite toilet and shower room which was great. Good location near restaurants and transport links to other parts of the city. Fascinating history of the building. Great friendly helpful staff .

This is a hostel. But it had a nice family section with a private bathroom. Not my usual choice, but it was nice. Very nice staff.

Firstly, this is a hostel, not a hotel which is something that should be mentioned in the name in the listing. Secondly, the room look nothing like the one displayed on the photo in the listing. Thirdly, every member of staff we encountered was either bored to death, showing 0 interest in the job, or plain rude. First foom we were assigned had bunch of hair left in the bed after not optimal cleaning. Room we got instead had a clean bed, but imprins of shoe soles on the walls and overall feel was not great. There's no kettle at the room, but you can purchase drinks in the 'lobby' - reception area filled with vending machines of all sorts. Everything in the hostel is done to appear nice on the photos, but in reality it's totally impersonal, cold and has no vibe whatsoever. I'd say perfect if you wanna hang with bros drinking around east Berlin, not ideal if you book with your partner

No good. From check-in to leaving, not good.
The hotel is in the middle of a very busy area with very little parking. We didn’t reserve one of their very few parking spots, so on the last day of our trip, when we had to leave super early the next morning, I had to park almost a mile away. The check-in attendant wasn’t nice at all. She seemed to be almost perturbed that people were checking in. The beds were ok, but nothing great. Room was quite crammed and the bathroom door couldn’t be locked, which is an issue. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Great value for money, the room was big and comfy, the bathroom was very small. It was noisy, the kind of ambiance you expect from a hostel type stay. It's great if you're looking to make friends, have a place to hang out but if you're looking for a place to rest and have quiet nights, not for you. Staff was ok.

Room smelt of Fecal Matter from the shower. Smell got continually worse during the stay, to the point where it was almost unbearable. Mattresses were uncomfortable. Will not be returning

Terrible staff, over charged and no refund!!
Staff aren’t friendly and couldn’t be bothered dealing with guests. We were charged for towels and bed sheets despite them being included in our room. Asked for a refund which I still not have received and had to give my bank details to staff as it “was the only way to receive a refund”. They then tried to say it was our fault that we were charged extra for bed sheets and towels we didn’t need. This place is an absolute scam with rude staff who bitched about us in German thinking we didn’t understand.

If budget is your first priority, this place is great. A room that sleeps 4 for $68 a night is hard to beat! It was clean and staff were helpful. There are a ton of reasonably priced restaurants of all kinds within walking distance, and the train station is a six minute walk, with connections to anywhere you’d want to go. That being said, it is a hostel, so there are no shortage of twenty something’s here and enjoy themselves sometimes late into the evening. While we found the guys’ rendition of Adele’s “Someone like you” being belted out at 11pm amusing, if you are looking for a quiet retreat this is probably not the best fit for you. Overall a great place for the price.

I would not stay here again personally. It's the noisiest hotel and isn't helped by the beer garden atmosphere of the lower courtyard. People will be chatting and drinking all night long unless it rains. The rooms have no ventilation and because it's so loud outside you don't want to have the windows open. The staff is really nice and the rooms are clean and in decent condition though. So if you are not staying to sleep it should not be a problem.

Basic but clean
A brief stay here, the rooms were basic but clean and warm with comfortable bed, but it is a hostel rather than a posh hotel so ideal for short stays or large groups. Only a few minutes walk from ostkreuz station and plenty of shops and cafes nearby.

The front desk staffs are kinds and nice. The hotel location is really good because there are so many restaurants, supermarkets and stations around this area. If you look for reasonable price and good location, I recommend this hotel. I will stay at this hotel again in the future :))

In general I liked the stay at this place, especially counting low price. I liked the location, nice staff But I may complain on early cleaning, at the time a slept so during all our stay the room haven't been cleaned. The sheets were clean not full of some black hair... That was weird and kinda disgusting. And the difference between check in and ckech out time is 5 hours, too much. Would be really nice if they make check in at least at 12 and check out at 14.
