“cool hotel in great location”
Very pleased with our hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it. I notice there are some reviews about noise from an adjoining open air bar area- this is Tacheles which is one of Berlin's must see sights. The noise in the late evening did not keep us awake,- you are in a big city after all and must expect some background noise Lots of cool bars, cafes and restaurants in the area and well located for public transport. The staff at the hotel were lovely and the hotel's Austrian restaurant very good too.
“Great palce and area to stay”
The hotel (like most in Mitte) is new. My room Had floor to ceiling windows overlooking Oranienburger Strasse within a few seconds of great transport links. Breakfast had a good selection - both cold and hot. restaurant serves Austrian food so not to everyone's taste but so many good places to eat within a short walk.
“Nice design, great location”
The Arcotel Velvet is well located in Mitte, a great neighborhood with lots of interesting shops run by local designers and art galleries. The hotel is modern in design and the service was excellent. The hotel is extremely clean (and I am very picky). We had a junior suite with a cool angled window/wall and tons of room including a small sitting area. It's well located to many of the attractions a visitor would want to see, but Berlin is a pretty sprawling city so public transportation is a necessity. The Arcotel Velvet is close to both the U-Bahn and S-Bahn.
“good price point”
hotel is located in a younger-aged, trendy, ethnic area. lots of dining options nearby but limited shopping. close to U-bahn. great value in expensive city.
“Great vibe & location”
The hotel is very well situated in former Easter Berlin for those wanting to make the most of the city's famous sites and for those wanting to be at the centre of the city's artistic community. The hotel is very modern and well-appointed. Floor to ceiling windows in the bedrooms makes for lots of natual light and a great sense of the thriving street below. The staff speak a high standard of English and are very helpful. Would definitely stay again if visiting Berlin.
“arcotel, berlin”
hotel in a great area, central berlin. stylish, but not pretentious. staff were great, not pushy, but very helpful when asked. was really comfortable and impressive. definitely recommned the hotel. even a the friend i went with who was sceptical about staying in a 'trendy' hotel, liked it. however, bar was very expensive eg outside hotel a beer was 3 euros while at the hotel it cost 6. great place next door for good coffee and bagels, out the door and left.
“Arcotel Velvet is a class act!”
With innovative style, welcoming helpful staff and being well located for both transport and walking to the cultural centre, this hotel is a winner. Small independent galleries and charming neighborhood restaurants off Oranienburger make this a happening area and rewarding to explore. Yes, some noise seeps through from the club next door but there's so much to see and do in this stimulating city that you'll probably sleep as soon as you climb into those really comfortable beds. Arcotel Velvet ticked all our boxes and we want to return as soon as we can to carry on where we very reluctantly left off.
“Great hotel, perfect location”
Very centrally located hotel, and just the right level of cool. I especially recommend the junior suites to be above street noise, have a view, and enjoy the cool toys like electronic blinds on the floor to ceiling windows. They also include kitchenette facilities, which is nice for a longer stay.
“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
This was my first stay at an Arcotel and it was wonderful. The rooms are modern and artfully decorated, as well as being well maintained and spotlessly clean. We were happy to have free use of 2 desktop computers for Internet access in the Lounge area, and the included breakfast in the Lounge every morning was very good - juice, coffee, fruit, yogurt and pastries. The location was very convenient at the intersection of Friedrichstrasse and Oranienbergerstrasse, with the S-Bahn & U-Bahn within 1-2 blocks. We walked to many of the major sites, even in the January cold. There were also many good restaurants and bars/nightlife within a few blocks in either direction. We had wonderful dinners for 3 nights within 2 blocks of the hotel. Highly recommended!
“Even better than expected!”
This hotel was chic and a great place to stay for a family of four or more. The price for the Junior suite beat reserving two double rooms that cost more! Everything was impeccably clean, great neighborhood and easy access to the subway out the door! The free internet access was the biggest hit for our kids! and was nice for us too! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berlin! Thanks to the others for their recommendations. Oh...Breakfast is very pricey. Nice but very pricey. Check elsewhere. Or do it on your own in the suite with a refrig and sink and stove!
