“Recommend”
This Youth Hostel has a cool modern aire to it and the staff speak English. It is located close the the S-41/42 Train Ring around the city so it is easy to get to and from. Great for a budget traveller.
“All in All -- A Good Value”
The accommodations were hostel-like (Spartan), but unexpectedly new, modern, clean, bright and colorful. The young desk clerks were friendly and efficient. The hostel is conveniently located, overlooking the Landsberger Alle train station, no more than a half n'hour train ride from downtown Berlin. It is easily identifiable from the train station at night by an illuminated neon sign as well. Also, there was an Italian restaurant open late just a skip and a hop away. I do have two complaints. First of all, my reservation gave me the impression that I would be sharing public facilities, which was fine with me if I could save some money. Instead, I had my own facilities, for which I suspect I unnecessarily paid more. Secondly, there wasn't enough seating for breakfast, because a kitchen worker closed-off a large portion of the common rooms; as a result, I had to stand in the bar while I ate.
“Must-Stay in Berlin”
The Generator will sure generate a hangover, but it may also provide a base camp for the best time of your life. We enjoyed our stay, met many fine folks. Best recomended for the constant pary in the bar and lobby. An unbeatable value. Thanks GENERATOR!!
“Cleanest nicest hostel in Europe”
If you're looking for a hotel in Berlin, then this may not be what you're looking for, but if you are looking for a clean and fun hostel with other fun people, Generator is great! Perfect location for transportation, immaculately clean, and the bar can be lots of fun, especially at happy hour. Great for the price!
“typical large cool hostel for young people or young at heart”
great breakfast at a great price. parking available for free at a nearby residential ;-) parking. cool hostel. crammed bathroom in the room. very high internet prices, used our own Vodafone in roaming.
“No frills, and almost no one over 30!”
I enjoyed the Hotel Generator in Berlin. As a fifty-something traveller on my own it was amusing to be surrounded by so many young people, but I had no prolem with that. I had a private room WITH private bath (which I hadn't expected) for $55 per night. Also included was a big breakfast, and a free walking tour (available in different languages) which I took on my first day. The place is clean, around the corner from the subway, and would probably be especially attractive to young travellers on a budget.
“Awsome service”
This hotel was great! The service from the front desk personnel was outstanding. They offered up tour information, special event backgrounds and took care of other issues quickly and with a smile. Having the bar in the hotel was good for our trip as we were with kids, so being able to go down to talk to one of our party and not have to worry about the kids was very relaxing.
“Great Stay!!!”
The Hostel is very clean, new and very well managed. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the site is right next to a train station, awesome atmosphere.
“Definitely Recommended”
Obviously, this is hostel - so it is quite basic. But its right next door to Landsdberger Allee station, its really clean, was warm in January, has freindly, helpful staff and the breakfasts were really good. And if you stand in Landsberger Allee station and look around you can see the hostel. That would've made it easier to find if we'd spotted it on day 1!
