“We shall be back”

A very pleasant 4 night stay in this hotel during Crufts. Superbly placed for the NEC this is a very comfortable, welcoming hotel. From arrival to departure the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The room was clean, tidy and bright and the food was excellent. We only ate from the bar menu so cannot comment on the main restaurant. Huge portions of food though quite expensive. Some of the corridors in the main part of the hotel are looking a bit worn and are probably due for a redecoration, but it was otherwise very smart. The only minor irritation was the wait at the bar. The hotel was very busy but most evenings only 1 person was serving, so the wait was excessive. On one night the solitary bar maid had to leave the bar to change a barrel with a queue 6 deep waiting to be served. They were obviously short staffed, as all the waiters and reception staff were rushing around, but it was frustrating to witness. I saw one guest buy a pint of lager and then rejoin the queue straight away and had finished the pint before he got served again. Having said that, all teh staff were working very hard and were very polite and pleasant.

The best thing about the hotel is its staff. Leisure center facilities are also very good. The food menu is bit limited and average but good for 1-2 day stay. Very good value for families.

“Holiday Inn -Birmingham Airport”

This hotel was much more than we expected when booking a room for a sleepover before catching an early flight. The room was immaculately clean room and the beds were very comfy enabling us to have a good night's sleep. The pool and leisure facilities were also maintained to a very high standard, it was definitely worth packing a costume. We enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant with excellent service, indicative of the service we received throughout the hotel. The proximity to the airport meant we were inside the airport terminal 20mins after waking up.

“Back to North America”

While having spent two weeks in 'quaint' British hotels it was a pleasure to stay in a hotel reflecting the comforts that we are used to in the USA and Canada.

“Needs some improvment but would stay again”

Hotel is currently being remodeled. Thermostat in my room showed an error but the room was comfortable. Bath tub had a shower wand mounted in addition to a shower head. The shower head had very little water pressure. Bed was very comfortable and had both hard and soft pillows. Breakfast included a good selection of pastries, in addition to eggs, bacon, toast, fruit and cereal. Free WI-FI is only located in the reception and bar area. Internet in your room will cost you extra. Free shuttle will take you to or pick you up from the airport although the location to be picked up from was difficult to find and the person at the hotel couldn't tell us precisely where it was but that it was red.

Friendly staff. Quick service. Made my stay a pleasure. Checkin and checkout was super quick. Room was prepared with my additional requirements. Good location.

“We will definitely be back”

As a regular visitor to the NEC this was the best and most convenient hotel we have used. We don't get to use many of the hotel facilities because of long days, but this was a good experience. The food was good in both the bar and the restaurant. Breakfast was to expensive so we ate at the NEC. The only disappointment was the cleaning in the room. On the 1st day there were some toenail clippings beside the bed which were still there on day 4. We could have done without the overly familiar singer in the dining room even though his voice was very good. We wanted to eat and speak to our guest but were constantly pestered to take part in the entertainment. Be aware that there is a car park charge which wasn't apparent upon booking though considering this is an airport hotel it is to be expected. There was a wedding at the hotel on the Saturday night and we struggled to find a parking space even tough we had prepaid for each night. I would not have been happy had I not found a space. I expect that they charged the wedding guests to park as well as us. Overall, we were happy with the hotel and will definitely look to book here again for our next NEC visit

“Functional rather than funky”

Well situated for going to events at NEC. Excellent shuttle service to and from the airport, international station and the National Exhibition Centre. Fairly basic decor, but functional. A good place if convenience is the main consideration.

“Expected Quality, better Value sometimes.”

This is my 2nd or 3rd stay on HI Birmingham (Airport). I prefer the hotels adjacent to the airport but when they are having silly season with the rates this is a convenient alternative. I think the food prices are at a higher rate however but they do offer courtesy airport transportation for free. The layout is somewhat unusual, but if you are there a day or two you may discover a shorter route to your room. Front Desk staff are always professional and helpful. Most Bar staff are also friendly and you can take a meal in the bar as opposed to the more formal dining restaurant.
