“Excellent!!!”
I was extremely happy with this hotel in every respect. The staff was very nice and helpful, the breakfast good und the situation could not have been better. I will return there if ever I return to Birminham where I was for the first time and which I like very much.
“Extremely pleased”
We booked this hotel as it was not too far to walk from Simpons restaurant (whose rooms are extortionate). We were extremely with our choice and would defiintely return as we go to Simsons once or twice a year. Highly recommended.
“Good location”
The room was very clean and I was really impressed with the seperate shower/tub. My only complaint is it smelled like fresh paint and they limit the amount of guests you are allowed.
“Would definitely used it again.”
We had a very pleasant experience at the Novotel in Birmingham. Loved the hotel, cleanliness and in an ideal position to reach the NIA and shops. Breakfast was superb and dining room was ran very efficiently by all staff. Coffee and tea was placed in front off you immediately you sat down - excellent service!
“Great value hotel”
I booked this hotel for a night out in Birmingham. It was the perfect location as it is right in the middle of Broad Street with lots of pubs, clubs and restaurants either side. It was a short taxi ride from New Street train station £5 and about 20 min walk to the Bull Ring shopping centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful they gave us a map to show how to get to the Bull Ring also my friend forgot her charger for her ipod and they let her charge it at reception. My room wasn't ready when I checked in so they offered for me to wait or have the disabled room so we chose to have the disabled room as it was bigger. Very pleased with the hotel, the price, the destination, the room and the staff.
“Good location for visiting the NIA”
This hotel is situated very near the NIA which is partly why I decided to try it. It cost about £6-7 by taxi to get to from New Street station to the hotel or you can walk which takes about 20minutes. To get to the NIA took about 5-10minutes walk, there is a sign post outside the hotel which we followed but then took the canal walk on the right hand side, this leads to the NIA and also lots of nice restaurants and pubs. The reception and breakfast area is very nice and modern and the staff were very welcoming and also offered us an upgrade at a small price. The room was nice but I will say it was very noisy at night due to it's location on Broad street, we were there on a Saturday but this is probably due to the old style windows so take some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The buffet breakfast the next day was perfect; full English, cold meats, pastries, fruit etc, which was included in the price which was great! Book up early to get a good deal. I would give the hotel a 8 out of 10, I had a pleasant stay just a shame about the noise let's hope they update their windows.
“Would use again”
Great location in the city centre within walking distance of the nightlife. Offered early check-in, very friendly service, breakfast in my room at no extra charge. Parking is reasonable per 24-hour period.
“OK stay, would try an alternative next time but very convenient location and good breakfast.”
The hotel was fine but had a few drawbacks, e.g. parking underground and no lift to reception - I had to drag my case up a large flight of stairs, then our room had no airconditioning so we left the window open all night and it was so noisy I had to put in earplugs to finally get a few hours sleep. Breakfast was great and room was nicely furnished and clean so an adequate stay overall. I would choose another as there are so many in the area if I have to stay in Birmingham in the future.
“Good hotel for shopping, clubbing and central location”
Very clean, wc separate from bathroom. Room a bit cold on arrival but reception lady soon sorted. Really noisy on Sat night as in the centre of Broad Street with all the clubs and bars. Car park at hotel quite expensive but there are lots of other cheaper car parks around and if you manage to get a space after 6pm in the streets on Sat you can park free until Monday morning! Breakfast great although bit of a queue due to everyone arriving at the last minute due to late nights the night before.
“Good base for exploring the city of Birmingham.”
Good base for exploring the city of Birmingham. The hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel looks like its had a contemporary makeover downstairs, including the dining room. The breakfast selection was good. The bedrooms probably need a bit of a make-over as they are looking at bit tired. We couldn't turn off the air conditioning as it was a centrally controlled system but you could adjust the setting to how hot or cold you wanted it. Generally satisfied.
