“really great hotel”
staff friendly excellent location for city centre room a little small but clean and well maintained had really great stay would return
“much better than the price might suggest”
i booked this as a cheap hotel for me and some friends to stay in while on my hen night. i didn't have very high expectations but the hotel was lovely and the staff were great. it's not in the loveliest part of birmingham but if you are planning on sticking to the centre areas or hitting hurst street or going to the hippodrome i would highly recommend this as a place to sleep. the only real complaint we had was the lighting in the rooms was a little dim. oh and the car parking is now free!

“Would definitely stay here again”
Decent hotel for the money, would definitely stay here again
“Very cheap and helpful staff make up for basic rooms”
This was my second visit this year. Although the rooms are basic and the furnishings are somewhat old and dated the hotel is close to the city centre, has incredibly helpful and pleasant staff and is an interesting and special building. With views of the city and amazing stained glass roofs if you want somewhere that is very cheap its a pretty good bet.
“Pleasant stay”
The hotel is quite close to the Bullring shopping centre, good bus links to other areas of Birmingham too. The room was clean and quite comfortable and we enjoyed our stay in Paragon Hotel.
“A good well-priced alternative to city centre hotels”
I've stayed at the Paragon several times. It's about 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre and admittedly it's adjacent to an industrial area which isn't very pretty. However it's a good hotel, very large and far more architecturally-interesting than most you'll encounter in the city. The rooms are a mix of adequate (decent-enough beds, decent shower, small, slightly old-fashioned TV etc) and the superior version which isn't much different but has an LCD TV on the wall and a fresh lick of paint with free in-room wi-fi. There's free wi-fi downstairs and masses of room to stretch out in. It's a huge but characterful hotel. Haven't tried the food but there's a chip shop almost next door. Being much cheaper than the competition means this hotel is well worth considering - as long as you don't mind the location.
“Cheap and clean”
Good if you just want somewhere to cheap to stay for a night. Not too far from New Street Station but a little bit out in the housing estates. Room was small but fine, but bed was absolutely tiny.
“Cheap and comfortable”
The hotel although located a little out of the town and a taxi ride away from the night life was excellent, cheap and comfortable.
