“School holiday break”
I stayed with my two daughters for a couple of nights in the school holidays in September and we all enjoyed the hotel. When we checked in we were given a warm welcome, advised about parking and given perfect directions to our room. All of our questions about bus times and how to find places were answered - the map we were given came in very handy. Our triple room was very spacious, super-clean and had everything we needed. We had a great time.
“Very satisfied”
The hotel proved to be just what we wanted. The bus stop was right outside with a great bus service in & out of the city, ideal for the christmas markets, shopping at the bull ring & eating at the mailbox. There was always a welcome at the bar especially on a cold wet night with the fire burning. Breakfast was well presented good quality and no rush really relaxed, with excellent menu choice. We didnt eat there in the evening but the small restaurant & menu were inviting, we just didnt have time to do it all. Would reccommend it, my room was ground floor and was actually a room for the disabled, which I am sure would have met the needs of a disabled person.
“Very good value for money”
Excellent value - with a good breakfast. Overall vet satisfied and would stay there again.
“You get what you pay for...period.”
The hotel was just what we wanted. Close to the motorway, clean, and quiet. They had us on a room in the front which was on the main road at first, but then they moved us to the back of the hotel which was nice. I wouldn't pay for wireless there....that is a scam for 10 pounds when I could have a nice meal at McDonalds just down the road and connect there. Good place though and way cheap with my coupon.
“Will definately use the hotel again as it is very well situated for the city centre.”
I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by some very polite and helpful staff who signed me in and explained where all facilities could be found. My room was situated at the back of the complex and was very quiet and above all the room was immaculate and fresh smelling although there wasnt any hot water for a shower however this to me was only a minor problem. The main lounge and bar area was well appointed and had a pleasant feel to it with friendly staff and patrons. I didnt have time to eat there but would imagine the food would be perfectly acceptable as is the hotel in general. A pleasant suprise after a long journey.
“great value - no complaints, whatsoever”
We reserved a double bed with a pack n' play for our 2-year old. The room was small, but very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was sufficient. We also had full-breakfast as a part of our rate and the breakfast was well worth it (especially when travelling with a child). They provided continental style breakfast along with a hot breakfast of your choosing. We were extremely pleased with all of the services and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would only stay here again if visiting Birmingham in the future.
“Fantastic value, great service”
To be honest I was a little nervous when I walked into the temporary reception as the hotel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and parts look like a building site. However, the staff were very helpful (e.g. provided a hairdryer as promised) and my room was superb. It had been recently refurbished and although only small (a single room), it was more like a 3-4* room with a very comfortable bed, LCD TV and lare shower. Breakfast was freshly cooked and the coffee was excellent.
“Convenient, clean and good value.”
We booked this hotel as a place to crash for two nights, room only, while working on my daughter-in-law's flat. The bedlinen was clean, the bathroom up-to-date and after the Travelodge where we had stayed the previous week we were impressed to find small packet soaps, soap/shampoo dispensers, stationery and complimentary biscuits as well as packet hot drinks, and a digital LCD TV. Our electronic key didn't work when we came back the second day, but that was rapidly sorted. Front desk staff may look a bit serious and were a bit surprised to find we had no photo ID (passport, driving license) but responded positively to a bit of chat. In the "West Wing" they are still making improvements, so there is the odd loop of cable hanging from a hole in the ceiling in the corridor, and some of the paint on the room was a little battered but the immaculate bathroom, TV and strawberry shortcake biscuits made up for that. Can't comment on the food or the WiFi as we didn't use them
“Great hotel!”
Excellent hotel and great value for money.
“Would use again”
Nice big room, comfy bed. Excellent shower! Nice pint in the bar, and breakfast was really tasty. Would be nit-picking to criticize anything. Would use again next time I'm down
