I was a bit wary on booking this hotel....hotel without a window? What's that all about?
It has very good reviews so I booked it to try it.
Small, compact room that makes the absolute best of its space. Suitcase fitted right under the bed allows you more room.
The longest bed I have ever seen with a state of the art Samsung TV at the bottom of it fitting into the wall.
A choice of ambient lighting to suit your mood includes a clever illusion that you do indeed have a window and it's a sunny day outside.
This place is very well priced (I mean cheap) and is worth every penny.
An added bonus is the location, it is situated around St Pauls Square that has everything if you want to avoid the city centre. If you do want the city centre then it's only 10 minutes away. I will certainly be going back again.
Bloc hotel is located in Birminghams Jewellery Quarter. The village atmosphere created by its cafes-bars and restaurants is …More
I stayed here for a girls night off on Saturday night. From the moment I walked in to the hotel and was greeted with "you must be with the sisters" I felt right at home. We were a late walk in for afternoon tea - no problem at all and I have to say it was one of the best I have ever had. We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel - each time the food was excellent. The staff really do deserve a special mention - they were so helpful and friendly - a real credit. The hotel was full over the weekend with half marathon runners and a wedding but it never felt crowded or rowdy. They had live music in the lounge on Sunday lunchtime which was lovely. The rooms were very modern and clean. They were also very spacious. My only gripe was when we tried to order some room service it took about fifteen minutes for someone to answer the phone. When the chips did arrive (at a cost of £5.95 each) there were about 10 in each bowl. This was a bit of a mickey take when everything else seemed such good value. All in all, a wonderful stay.
Pleasant and relaxing environment. Modern but not eccentric style (I am not a fan of Radisson Blu). Couldn't be any more central, easy access to best restaurants and bars the city has to offer. Generously sized room and bed. Helpful staff. Long queues at check in and check out.
This hotel really is lovely and our stay was fantastic from start to finish. We had a deluxe room and it was spacious and very clean. The king bed was huge and the mini bar and snacks available were all great. The bathroom was the highlight of this room with a huge roll top bath and enormous walk in monsoon shower which nearly knocked me over it was that powerful. The bathroom had a clinical feel about it which was great as I guess it was based on one of the bathrooms from the old eye hospital. We had a front facing room and there was a bit of noise from the front street from passers by late on a Saturday night but nothing to loud or after 12 ish so not so bad. One bad point with this hotel is the lift. It's an old looking open lift shaft and very small inside. Slow going up and down. It got stuck on the way down on one journey and although not in there for more than 5 mins did start to panic. We were on the top floor but when we go again will sure to take the stairs. Apart from that flawless hotel and really impressive for a special occasion. Going to stay here agai ldn and would recommend to anyone.
