It’s a lovely hotel, very clean, spacious, modern. I’ve stayed at this Le Méridien before and had good expectations. But something strange happened at check-in. There was something in the demeanor of the check in clerk that was unwelcoming, a lack of graciousness. It was confirmed when he neglected to offer me a glass of Prosecco, which is the standard at Le Méridiens I believe for platinum Expedia guests. It certainly had beén offered to me at previous check-in’s. And then I saw other newly arriving guests being offered a glass. I don’t like to assume prejudice when people are less than gracious, but that’s what I felt. As an aside, I come to Cambridge each week to teach so I have stayed at many hotels in town. Yes, I am very sensitive and aware.
