“Great location!!!”
I would come back in a heart beat!!!
“Great base for train travel into the alps, hiking, etc”
Reception was friendly and glad to help with information. We hiked till late, the restaurant was full - so Stefan opened the terrace for us for private dining, great food, US Open tennis on the TV and great conversation with Stefan. A great experience for our first visit to Switzerland. Best breakfast buffet of our entire vacation.
“Would definitely stay here again!”
Our stay at the Hotel Ambassador Brig was excellent! We had a "junior suite" that included a queen bed and a pull out couch, very comfortable for three people. We used the hotel as a base point for the nearby ski areas. The rate was a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Your stay includes breakfast which is also excellent (eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, cereal, breads, oatmeal, wide selection of coffee and tea). The only strange thing about our room was the bathroom...the wall/door was clear glass which didn't offer much privacy. But, the shower was amazing with multiple shower heads, jets, and settings. The hotel is only a couple blocks from the Brig train/bus station so it's convenient if you're skiing (buses go to the local ski areas). We would definitely stay here again if in Brig.
“good base for train travel”
We have just returned from an 8 day holiday travelling around Switzerland on a Swiss Travel Pass. We made all our own arrangements on the internet and our 4 hotels included 2 nights at the Ambassador in Brig.We would recommend it to other travellers. It is easy to find, in a quiet location and handy for the centre of Brig and the train station.Brig is a very good centre for train travel with frequent trains to other parts of Switzerland. The hotel was small, comfortable, clean and friendly, with good rooms and a pleasant (cooked) breakfast. It was interesting to find that local people stay there and last weekend the hotel was full of Swiss people dressed in national costume going to the "Yodel fest" in Naters,a small village on the opposite side of the river from Brig.
“A wonderful experience”
We had a wonderful time staying at the Ambassador. Nice friendly staff, a very good breakfast, and clean comfortable accommodations. We were lucky as when we arrived, there were no double rooms available, so they put us in the penthouse suite! What a treat...two nights in a private suite, with a great view. I would definately stay at this hotel again.
“Solid place to stay.”
Good location as it was very near the train station and bus stop. Good breakfast was included in the bill and the room was large and comfortable. Would stay at again!
“Very nice hotel”
The room was clean and comfortable, the desk staff very pleasant, and the breakfast was excellent.
“close to bahnhof”
hotel is close to bahnhof (station) 200m, and center but not on main streets where some noisy youngsters can pass. no trains under window. the hotel itself is very charming. as it hase wooden floor it makes some minor noise when someone walk above or near room door.
“Will definitely return”
This was our 4th stay at this hotel and there have been many upgrades. We booked one night and stayed for three nights! Many rooms now have balconies with mountain views. It was very relaxing to just sit outside and enjoy the views. The breakfast room has been remodeled and the breakfast menu now includes many juices, eggs, and bacon. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice on this trip and the food is very good, a little pricey, but the portions are very large and could probably be shared. We had rack of lamb and a seafood platter that included shrimp, scallops, a white fish, and salmon. They have a large menu including soups, salads, meats, and Swiss specialties. They also offer a daily special menu. One day it was a bucket (very large) of fresh mussels. They are not open for dinner on the weekends, but are open for lunch. The rooms are large, but the bathrooms/showers are small. There is plenty of hot water. The hotel is well worth the price.
“Really Good Hotel”
Very Good hotel well located to Centre of Brig. Rooms spacious, modern and well kept. Food in Restuarant of a very high standard. The Owner and all of his staff were very obliging and spoke good English, Great base for Valais. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
