“Nice Hotel, surrounding area not so pleasant”
Hotel very good, service very good, hotel clean, breakfast good with plenty of choice. No free internet available so had to pay for wifi internet at significant extra cost, wifi service unfortunately very poor, hard to get a signal and drops out regularly, not worth the effort to try and get it working. otherwise very nice hotel, would stay again, really need a taxi to get to town centre.
“Gem of a place in Brussels”
This hotel has excellent presentation as you enter it with marble floors and very large airy rooms. The cleanliness was exemplary and the reception staff member we dealt with very helpful. He spoke good English and sourced vegetarian restaurants for us as well as routes to get to the Commission building. The hotel was well located about 10 mins or so from the train station and about 10 minutes the other way to the grand place where we chose to eat. I would definately stay there again
“More than expected”
Very good hotel with much more than expected for a 4 star
“Wonderful low cost Central Brussels hotel”
Great location in improving area, quick walk from Midi train station. On a major artery that makes it a 10 minute walk further to old town tourist center. Great airy modern rooms, large for Europe, clean new fitness room, nice buffet breakfast overlooking small garden. Very helpful, English speaking desk staff. A surprise overall - given the extraordinarily low price
“Great inside. Awful exterior”
The area is a little bit scary and the facade of the hotel looks like the worst place ever. However, once you enter things are quite different. Everything is brand new and with nice design touches. Very comfortable and really close to a subway station. You can walk around the old city. Eventhough sometimes you think somebody is going to show up and rob you. Very scary and lonely area. Breakfast is very good.
“Great hotel”
Huge rooms, great breakfast and a 15 minute walk from the Eurostar terminal. Service was excellent, but it is a shame that you have to wait until 3pm to check in.
“Would recommend”
Well situated midway between Bruxelles Midi station (Eurostar) and Grande Place.Smart, modern, clean and comfortable with good choice for breakfast.
“Very nice”
Very close to Eurostar station, about a 10 min walk so no taxi required. Very clean and quiet. Good breakfast. Nothing bad to say about it. Good for quick stop in Brussels as close to station for next morning train to other parts of the country.
“Freaking Fabulous!”
I pretty much love this hotel. The staff was really helpful and thankfully spoke English (but most people do in Brussels). You can book city tours and tours to Antwerp, Ghent and Brugge with them and they pick you up at the hotel! That was awesome. The rooms were comfortable (even though the double bed was two twins pushed together) and the whole room was roomy. Thank god for the shower! It was heaven (I don't have one at home). The free breakfast was really good quality with yogurt, cereals, fruits, cheeses, meats, eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, buns, croissants, pastries and coffee, teas, and juices. I was overly impressed with this hotel. The only down side was that it was on a sketchier street so since I was alone, I didn't go out at night just to be safe. Finding the hotel from Midi station was difficult without knowledge of where to go but getting from the hotel to the station was easy. Going to the Grand Place was a five minute walk no problem.
“Great Location, good value, did not disappoint”
Floris is a pretty good deal. Its strength is location, right smack in between the Midi/Zuid train station and the Grand Place. It took us exactly 7 minutes to walk from the hotel to the train station. Thus, great for side/day trips to Brugge, Paris, London or Amsterdam. The breakfast is amazing, and free. Internet is 5 euro for 30 minutes and is available wirelessly for that price. The rooms are big, modern, and clean. The safe works perfectly. We had an encounter with a very rude clerk at the front desk. He demanded that I sign a piece of paper with none of the information filled in the blank spaces (like price). I asked him if I could see the other documents in the bunch that were clipped to it. He angrily and loudly refused! So, I just signed it and figured I could figure out the nuances of Belgian litigation at a later date. I recommend the Floris. It is more expensive than others in the vicinity, but the breakfast and location make up for it. The immediate neighborhood is marginal, but not unsafe.
