“Excellent location in Budapest!”
If you are looking for a good hotel with a great location for an excellent price, this is it! Matyas Hotel is located right to the subway station (2 blocks), and almost in front of the river and the tram station. Tha staff is really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Just enough for having a nice days in the city. I would definitely return to Matyas Hotel and recommend it to my friends.
“Good hotel”
Have just returned from a 4 day break in this hotel. After reading the previous review I was a little concerned that the staff would not be helpful but this could not have been further from the truth. They booked us on a city tour, helped us navigate the underground and were very polite and welcoming.Breakfast was good and served in the downstairs cellar restaurant - a really nice location, also went to the authentic Hungarian night there (on a Wed and Thur) and had the set menu - lovely!
“Clean, reasonably priced, centrally located hotel in Budapest”
This is a clean hotel, centrally located in a good neighborhood in Budapest. Within walking distance from many attractions. Breakfast was good and the staff spoke English and were friendly. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Would stay there again. Budapest is a beautiful city and the people really make you feel comfortable and want you to enjoy yourself. We will go back again.
“Good Hotel, perfect location”
We were very satisfied with the hotel and the services it offered. The staff were friendly and very helpful. This Hotel is for you if you don't expect ultimate luxury. Would stay there again. Great location!
“Amazing Location!!”
I would recommend this hotel to young travelors and people that want to be in the middle of the action at a great price! The hotel... well, the location make up for its shortfalls! It is a clean place to rest your traveling head, nothing more. If you stay here with the right expectations, you will love it like I did!
“Friendly hotel, great location”
I stayed here with my wife for 3 nights this past November. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent English. The rooms were clean and decent sized and the amenities were adequate. I don't go for posh, so don't expect it, but was a clean, quiet, centrally located hotel with helpful staff, at a very reasonable price.
“Fantastic”
Fantastic staff Fantastic location Fantastic price Fantastic city Fantastic people Pretty fantastic really
“Good base for Budapest”
This was our second visit to the City Matyas in two years; on our first trip we had quite a large room with a view down to the Elizabeth Bridge and the Danube, this year a smaller room (but still big enough) with a view onto the street below. But the rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast is filling and varied - though not as good as it was a year ago. The hotel is close to the underground, and only one stop from the station where you change to other lines, and within easy walking distance of central Pest. A really good choice even for a lengthy stay if you really want to explore the capital.
“Very good hotel”
Good, clean hotel. Excellent location. Plenty of variety at breakfast. Would definitely use this hotel again. Good value for money.
