The Royal Victoria Hotel

"If you want to keep an eye on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or be close to the beginning of the Llanberis path up Mt. Snowdon, this is the place to be. And, if its raining and cold, you'll be content to eat at the Hotel's pub. There's a short walk through the woods to Dolbadarn Castle which is, yes, a castle in Wales, and very picturesque. Breakfast is adequate- an arrival of multiple coaches may have you relocated to a smaller dining room which happened to us, but then we were not on anyone else's schedule so all was satisfactory. The hotel is convenient to local bus service and an easy walk into town for more stores, outfitters and restaurants. Staying in this Hotel gives you a connection to Snowdon's past as it has been present in some form for nearly 200 years on the site. Stay there, eat a healthy breakfast and begin your ascent. What's wrong with that?"

"Another 1st class stay in the best b&b in Caernarfon, even without breakfast. Jan is the most welcoming of hosts, with a beautiful, history rich property almost in the castle walls. Highly appointed rooms, spacious, spotlessly clean and with everything you could need. Looking forward to my next visit. Cannot stay anywhere better."

"Over all accommodation was fine, stayed for 3 nights. The views outside are breathtaking, and all the flaws of room can be forgotten for the views and trails around property. Pros Easy Parking Easy checkIn Friendly staff 20 mins drive from Caenarfon town or llanberies Cons No restaurants nearby and no food delivery Will definitely stay again for the views and trails outside!!"

"Location was great and the room was enormous. Very generous draws and furniture and they went for a mid-century look but it felt like it came from an op shop. The shower was over the bath and would be difficult for an older person. Little by way of shelving in the bathroom. Walls were marked and in some places the carpet worn. While there is a lift there are stairs up and down on each level to get to your room. The curtains were well short of blackout. Overall at 3 star hotel at a 4 star price. Would not go back."

"Great Location in Town Centre within Castle Walls. Room and bed was Comfortable but could have done with coffee sachets which I did request for second night but didn’t arrive. Showers and toilets very clean on arrival but deteriorated during day and evening. All round great value in Twin Bunk Room. No Parking included so be prepared to search for Parking in Town"
