“Friendly, clean and convenient”
The hotel was friendly, clean and convenient. I don't like to spend much on a room since I intend to be out & about as much as possible. The only problem with this hotel was that there is another Concord that is better known to the taxi drivers, so they sometimes tried to take us to the other (unrelated) one up north! We ended up telling taxis to go to the National Museum. Once there, we instructed them to drive south to the next big intersection, then turn right. That always got us home. Besides being about a mile from the National Museum, it is also close to Metro stations, a great fast-food place & good bakery. The restaurant served a fine breakfast & tasty dinners, the staff always had a "sabak el nour" for us, and the beds were clean & comfortable.
“Best value for the price”
This is my second time I stayed in this hotel in two years. Location is great near local and chain restaurant and steps away from the Nile. The hotel is located few yards away from the Sheraton (one of the oldest and most luxurious hotels in Cairo) which speaks about the location. The Metro is less than 5 minutes walk, but Tahrir Sq is quite a hike. The breakfast was not bad at all. The staff was really helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a clean convenient location without any perks, this is your place. The bathroom was clean and modern (most important to me) and the room had a mini fridge that was very useful in keeping our water and snacks cool. The beds are a little hard but they were comfortable enough.
“Great Hotel”
All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms could use some attention and do seem a bit run down. Breakfast was great, very good selection. If you want to have a drink in the bar just tell someone in the restaurant and they will make sure you are taken care of right away. The location is great. Will definitely stay here again.
“♥Loving the Dokki♥”
For the Price the Dokki is a Great place to stay
“Would stay again”
Good location for doing the tourist stuff. Room was clean and the AC worked just fine. Staff was helpful. Liquor store two blocks down next to a bakery on the other side of the street if you want to get a bottle of wine.
“Good Hotel for the price”
I stayed 4 nights and was overall happy here. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good. Staff was good. It is on the opposite side of the bridge from downtown, so a bit of a walk from most sites (or taxi ride) but worth it to get out of the craziness of downtown Cairo. I also used the tour services of the shop a few doors down and they were fair and no pressure. My problem with the room was not enough electric outlets to recharge my phone, etc. And then the last day when I left for the airport the bell hop got a cab for me and told me the rate (a bit less than what I was expecting) but when I got to the airport the taxi driver got mad when I gave him the fare and told me it was more. Don't know if the hotel staff gave me the wrong price or the taxi driver was just trying to get more money...
“Africa Girl, Live in Ethiopia, in Egypt for vacation, American by birth.”
This is a good hotel that has an excellent rate. While it probably deserves its 3 star rating, it was perfect for us. The tourist police were ever present to help and protect. They negotiated our taxi fares, gave us advice and helped us to find things we needed. The staff were always helpful and quick to do whatever we asked. My socks were even washed by the cleaning lady one day without my asking. The front desk people, bell boys and cleaning staff were always friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel highly.
“great location”
nice hotel moderate prices, I definitely would recommend it
“Great location, cheap, easy to park, but not as Western”
This hotel had one of the cheapest rates on the internet and it was easy to find the hotel. The street had ample parking and it wasn't a problem for me to park almost in front of the hotel. It was situated in El Duqqi which is not as touristy as many other areas, but there were a few travellers around. I got the "Executive" room which came with a desk, its own bathroom and shower. The view was to the back of the building, nothing but sand-coloured high rise apartments. The air conditioner ensured comfort during the hot and somewhat humid climate and I was able to get a decent night's sleep. The elevator skipped 3 or 4 floors, then the upper floors were part of the hotel. That was nice since Egyptians like to honk like crazy outside.
“Budget travelling”
The hotel was very basic but clean and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but the complimentary breakfast was basic, the same every day but of a decent standard. Good for a budget stay.
