“Great Hotel in Cairo”
Safir Hotel was a great experience for us arriving in Cairo. The Hotel is well located and service is excellent. We arrived at 3 am in the morning after 20 hour trip and were able to order exquisite room service and have a good rest before venturing into El Cairo downtown. We were refered to a local taxi driver who took us to the Market, Citadel, Coptic Museum and Cairo Museum all day long droping us and then picking us up in every spot with a great smile and good advice on what to see it was a great way of getting to know El Cairo at our own pace.
“Impressive Hotel”
Stayed for 4 nights during May 2011. Room was large with a nice king sized bed. My room also over looked the square and had a small balcony. Location is appox. 10 min walk to the Nile river however there are many small local cafes very close by and also Macdonalds and Pizza Hut. Price for hotel was really good for a 5 star hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Cairo.

The staff is very helpful, the breakfast buffet offers an abundance of delicious choices, and the location of the hotel was near the metro station, McDonald's, and Pizza Hut.

Well the hotel is not on the beaten path of most western tourist destinations but its very nice and accommodating. Overall good value for the money spent.

the hotel is 5 stars so yes its good and comfortable but it can better the location is not good since your surrounded by buildings but you have mc donalds and pizzahut near you. room cleans: 5 out of 5. Service: 3 out of 5 since they didn't change my towels everyday. and yes i recommend staying in this hotel
“Well worth it”
I spent three nights at this hotel, and enjoyed my stay there. This hotel had many pros and very few cons. Pros: The staff was helpful. The Dokki metro stop was about 500 meters away, which would allow you to get to other parts of the city quite easily. The McDonalds and Cilantro cafe across the street from the hotel were open late in case you needed to grab a bite to eat or some coffee. Don't forget to try some of the chocolates from L'amandine next to the McDonald's. A bank, some grocery stores and a small pharmacy are all nearby. It's not close, but not far from the Pyramids of Giza. One of the taxi driver who hangs around outside of the hotel spoke English and was quite helpful. Cons: I had a really hard time connecting to the wireless internet in the lobby. The hotel is nice, but a bit worn out.

We had a great time here - close to the metro and staff and hotel good value.
