“Super Sofitel”
The hotel was fantastic. Food was great. We ate in 3 of the restaurants. The Budda Bar was really fun & a great atmosphere. Tuna tartar was wonderful! Very friendly staff with great service. Pool was lovely & the water was heated which was fabulous as the evenings were cool (we went in November.) The spa was great too! Prices for meals are not cheap - around £50 head, but worth it as we didn't get ill & everything was beautifully prepared. We would highly recomend this hotel.
“AMAZING HOTEL BEST IVE EVER STAYED IN”
WHAT A HOTEL ON THE NILE POOL IS AMAZING VIEW AMAZING RESTAURENTS ON THE EDGE AMAZING WISH I COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT YOU REALLY CANT WANDER OUTSIDE AS THERE IS NOTHING THERE CLOSE HOWEVER THE HOTEL IS FABULOUS
“An amazing city and and even more amazing hotel.”
Cairo is amazing. The Pyramids are breath-taking, and so was our hotel. The Sofitel is a true 5 star hotel. It's expensive, but has an amazing design, the staff are polite and friendly, the pool has a amazing view over the Nile, as do the rooms. The room are surprisingly spacious and well designed - a mix between classical and contemporary styles completed with taste. The location is great: it's relatively near to most sights, is in the beautiful 'Garden City' area, but is made by it's perfect Nile location. It has five varied restaurants, which all sit on a perfectly located boardwalk surrounding the hotel... all in all, excellent!
“Wonderful view”
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a view and a nice easy atmosphere.
“Excellent, Amazing!!”
Great acomodations, excellent service, beautiful scenery. Love the diferent restaurants by the Nile River. Would love to go back. Only thing that needs work is the Internet, access was limited, and the only place to use it was at the Business Center.
“An Oasis in the middle of Chaos”
We spent 3 days in Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum, Giza, Saqqara and Memphis before flying off to dive the Red Sea. Cairo was as crazy as all the reviews said, and we chose this hotel because it had been described as a refuge from the chaos of the city. IT IS. From the moment of arrival - after a hectic 2 hours in the airport trying to fill out forms for our missing luggage and haggling over a taxi fare and then being harassed to pay an EXIT FEE from the airport terminal etc. etc. - we arrived at our hotel to find exceptional SERVICE, exceptional ELEGANCE and the best FOOD we had in Cairo (though I must say it has a price tag to match). The concierge was outstanding and helped us so much, as did the business center as we tried for nearly 3 days to get our luggage from AlItalia's Cairo office. The view of the Nile was stunning, and our hotel was a true oasis in a sea of sand, noise, chaos and heat. The pool was OUT of this WORLD. The restaurants were ALL fantastic and we felt so safe and cared for. Will go back to Egypt - SO much to see - and would stay at this hotel anytime we have to go through Cairo. Go 5-star in this city if you can. You will be glad you did.
“Great Place!”
Hotel was fantastic the Spa was great, wouldn't really recommend the restaurant, Way over-priced, not that good actually sick from it. Venture out to the restaurants in town. Cheaper and much better!
“the best hotel in zamalek..”
Although usually the Sofitel hotels are not considered the top hotels, this particular Sofitel(Sofitel Gezirah,Zamalek),can be described as one of the best places to be if you want to be in a classy hotel in Cairo..It's located in the best area of Cairo,Zamalek..which is an actual island in the heart of Cairo..a lot quiter ,cleaner and more european than the rest of the city..Secondly because of the round shape of the hotel every room has a magnificent view(even if you don't choose the really expensive ones..great atmosphere, great decoration,1 really good restaurant(kebabgy),great breakfast...watch out for the taxi services and the tours the hotel may organize(CRAZY EXPENSIVE)..You better have go out in the street and loook for one of the white cabs with the meter..if not for that, you're gonna get ripped off..best hotels in Cairo:-Sofitel , -marriot omar cayam really warm and traditional building, amazing places and restaurants inside ,not that good a view, -and Semiramis..the four seasons are overrated and too expensive
“One of Egypt's Best Hotels”
Staff and facilities were excellent! No problems!
“Excellent hotel”
Excellent experience at Sofitel Cairo. Services were at very high level, good range of restaurant options, excellent Spa, beautiful swimming pool and very comfortable room. I definitely recommend this hotel. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Sofitel Luxor, which is VERY bad (terrible services and horrible rooms). Given this huge difference between two hotels of the same brand I'm NOT likely to book at Sofitel again, cause I don't want to have the poor experience I had with them at Luxor
