“Will hopefully return - soon!”
Located in a leafy suburb of Antibes, the hotel is convenient for both the beach (10 minute walk) and the cente of Antibes (10 minute bus ride costing 1 euro. ) Very good facilities - large pool and terrace, bar (with PC for internet access)and breakfast room / restaurant.( Not open all year round). Friendly service. Very happy to give a good recommendation.
“Lovely friendly and quiet guest house. The bedroom was basic but clean. The pool was lovely.”
Lovely friendly and quiet guest house. The bedroom was basic but clean. The pool was lovely. Staff were very friendly. You do need a car to get into town centre.
“Had a wonderful time!!”
Small, comfortable, relaxing hotel with outstanding service. I loved it's quaintness and the friendly, helpful staff. I plan to use it again!
“What a great place”
I've just come back from La Garoupe and had a fantastic time. Yes the hotel is basic but it met all my expectations and more. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is that I felt the breakfast was expensive at 12 euros. We ate out for breakfast and managed to find a local cafe in Juan Les Pins that did a french breakfast for 5 euros! I would say you do need car hire for this hotel as walking into the nearest town Juan Les Pins is a good 40mins and a taxi is very pricey. I think the hotel is suitable for all - families, couples and friends. I'm really glad we chose to stay at this hotel and look forward to returning soon.
“charming and in a residential area”
Our room was quite small but so charming that we didn't care. It had at least 11' ceilings with an antique chandelier and a closet wardrobe of nice old wood. We especially enjoyed the balcony with a table and chairs. The beach was quite a hike and it was rather inconvenient that they had no restaurant except for breakfast but we found a corner neighborhood grocery that met our immediate needs.
“Excellent”
Can't wait to go back! Very very helpful and friendly staff.
“Very Romantic. The perfect solution in a very expensive area”
I was quite worried by some of the reviews I read on the size of the rooms, for this reason I booked a Superior Room, having found excellent rates on Expedia. I must say that the room and the bathroom were spacious and full of light. The staff has been very friendly. The minibar has reasonable prices. The swimming pool is a good solution if you want to avoid the very expensive beaches in the surroundings. Didn't have breakfast because it was a little too expensive, since you can have breakfast for less in the nearby bar. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed being in a silent area. You might need a car if you want to reach the more lively areas.
“A perfect end to our adventure”
We spent two nights at La Garoupe Gardiole after travelling through Germany, Austria and Italy. It was just what we needed, relaxed, clean and classy. It is a bit of a walk into Antibes but a very pleasant walk and the perfect way to sober up and walk off your evening meal.
“Great value”
Nice staff, good breakfast. Nice pool, though space in this part othe World is tight. Avoid the pizzza restaurant next door! Didn't try hotel restaurant. Bit of a hike from Juan les Pins, taxi is 20 euros each way. Head for hotel at La Gaoupe bay, walkable for dinner.
“La Garoupe Gardiole”
We stayed here for a week at the end of May and enjoyed it. We had a pleasant room with a balcony (with table and two chairs) and a partial sea view (in the distance). The bathroom was practical and very clean with a powerful shower. The staff were helpful throughout and there is a nice swimming pool. On the down side the walls between rooms are quite thin and you can hear quite a lot of third party noise such as people coming in and out of neighbouring rooms and people talking. At times this made it harder to sleep. Also the restaraunt which we did not plan to use was closed and does not look like it has been open for a while. They do serve breakfast but at 11 euros a head you are much better off having breakfast at a near by pattiserie or cafe like we did for 5 euros a head. The most important point is that if you are going to stay here you MUST rent a car, we rented a car and indeed parked on site which is good but without a car you are in for a lot of walking or many taxi trips to amenities adding up to alot of euros. Overall the hotel was good value and pleasant. The area can not be disputed, if you threw a stone in any direction it is most likely to hit a million pound home.
