“Geat value”
Good standard for the price, great staff. Try the Panorama bar and the revolving resturant. Close to shops and resturants. Cape Town is excellent value for money.
“Great Hotel”
On the whole I was pleased with the hotel, The staff were polite, it's very clean and the service is very good. I found and couple of niggly little things wrong with the room but nothing that spoilt my holiday, and I hope your ok with lifts because I didn't see any stairs. The food here is excellent, A meal on the top floor restaurant is a must.
“First visit to Ritz Hotel and Cape Town...WON'T BE LAST!!!”
Feast of a breakfast to suit all tastes. Eggs cooked to order. Lots of fruit Hot and cold choices with toaster, a variety of breads! Room service was handy after a busy day and good price! Air conditioning effective Our rooms faced towards the V&A and the new football stadium. Sunrises beautiful We toured the football stadium, hotel is only a few minutes walk from it! BOOK EARLY for 2010! Hotel dated as others have noted but spotlessly clean and parts that have been undated are FAB especially the pool area. The rooms are quite spacious and higher rooms have lovely views. The bed linen was bright white & crisp, changed daily with towels. The rooftop revolving restaurant well worth visit but need to book early as very poplular. Great views with a rotation every hour or so. Food was well presented and delicious! Again good price! The pool area was very nice with limited sun loungers with royal blue towel rolled on each and replaced quickly when needed. The pool was rather chilly tho, only our 9 year old venturing in. We didn't use any local restaurants, they looked ok. The Ritz is in the Sea Pointe area which is within a stroll to V&A area along promenade, although the Golden Arrow is cheap and regular! The hotel travel agent was a great help with advice about places to go and visit independently or on tours. The hotel car park had security guard although we never felt insecure anywhere.
“nice hotel at reasonable rate”
The hotel might look abit dated, need some modenisation at the lobby area, however, the service was excelent.. the room was nice and clean and just got to love the revolving restaurant on the top of the hotel. The view was fantastic and food was marvelous!.. Highly recommended! Oh not to mention about the warm hospitality of the staffs!
“Excellent value for money”
Large comfortable rooms with all the basics including aircon, TV and safe. Plenty of secure parking is a bonus although there is a nominal charge. Decor is a little dated, but whole hotel is very clean. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Very good value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
“Good location and Price”
Look foward to going back next year and staying their ! well pleased with the overall experiance their!
“Good location by the sea.”
We had a bright room with windows that opened from which we could see the sea and the mountain. We could even see the mountain from the shower! A desk and chair made comfortable working conditions. The neighborhood had a selection of comfortable restaurants and bars, and the beach promenade was just several blocks away. It was beautiful at sunset. We used a taxi to get to the center city; it was a bit too far to walk.
“Good value”
The first room we were shown had a great view but watter dripping from the AC made a puddle on the night table. We asked to change and were VERY satisfied with the second room...more modern decor and another great view!
“Good value for the price”
An easy to find Hotel, just drive along the motorway from the airport to Cape Town and then look for the signs for Seapoint. The hotel is tall and you can see it from miles as its very distinctive. Good location in that its just off a well lite road with shops & bars within 100 metres. Nice 20 min walk along the promenade around Green Point to the V&A Waterfront complex. We walked it during the day several times but sense dictates to get a taxi in the dark (R35 about 3 pounds sterling). Hotel itself was very clean and our rooms were of the same standard you get at most 3star Spanish hotels and 4star Cyprus hotels. Breakfast is absolute brilliant and very popular (but plenty of food and room). Evening meal is restricted choice due to not many eating in but you can have four courses and choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. The revolving restaurant is good and generally has a pianist. My family had the most expensive dishes on the menu as a three course meal and drinks and it came to about 60 pounds sterling in total (it gets popular so you need to book). Just below the restaurant is a smokers bar which is a shame as its nice for a pre dinner drink overlooking Cape Town. Overall great value, don`t be put off by the negative reviews (in my humble opinion) and enjoy yourself. I would go back.
“enjoyed myself”
