“Talk about a welcome!!”
After an incredibly long 37 hour trip from DC to Wales, I arrived at the Best Western Parkway Hotel. I was hungry and tired, and in dire need of a shower. Though the kitchen was closing, the lovely ladies at the front desk made certain a larger than life tray full of food was delivered to my room, along with the UK's favourite non-alcoholic beverage, orange soda. I awoke to discover the adapters I had purchased in the states for my electronics were completely useless. I looked up a local computer store, and then went to the front desk to request a taxi. From under the desk they produce a rather large box with just about every power cable known to technology! Unfortunately, my gadgets were so new they didn't have what I needed, but I was still impressed. A very quick ride to a nearby shopping center (the one with a Boots) and an indoor market hall called InShops. InShops is like a mini mall with about 50 - 70ish mini stores with every imaginable thing you can think of. Within 10 minutes I found a cell phone shoppe and a computer shoppe, each with the exact item I needed! The food at the Best Western is very good, though expensive, but no more expensive than any other hotel's restaurant. They have a fitness center in the hotel, though time and jet lag prevented me from enjoying it. If it's in keeping with the rest of the hotel, I'm certain I'd have been pleased with it.
“very good”
a very good hotel with a very welcome log fire in the lounge. the food was excellent and also the room was okay.
“A welcome in the Valleys”
This hotel is great for the travelling business person, prices are reasonable, the facilities well above average and the food better than most "chain" hotels. Staff are friendly and accommodating, cannot fault the place and will book again when in the area.
“A real find”
The hotel was very good value for money and the service was excellent. They even arranged an early check-in to give us time to change for a wedding after a long journey. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were quiet.
“Peerless Service in Cwmbran”
I have stayed here before and will do so again - perfect Hotel for the restless business traveller. Excellent customer service from helpful and friendly staff.
“Nice hotel on outskirts of Cardiff”
It's a 25 minute drive into town. Nice hotel. Absurdly expensive breakfast. Excellent pool. You can eat pool side for a reasonable price!
“Fine for a short stay”
Hotel was very clean and the room comfortable and spotless. The public rooms were pleasant and easily accessed. The restaurant service on the Sunday evening was poor, the waiters were inefficient and the menu offered was not priced so it was unclear whether we were being charged by the course or for the whole menu. The standard of the food when it arrived was not of the standard we would have expected in such a hotel.
