“Friendly, central hotel”
Great location in Casablanca, very central. Staff helpful, friendly and polite. Recommended hotel.
“Casablanca meets hollywood”
I found this hotel to have real historic charm. For some reason I just felt like I was in the movie. I really needed to be in Casablanca for a few days and transatlantique was right in the middle of the city.
“Good economy hotel”
Compared to other hotels the price is right for an economy visit. Short walk to the centre, the souk and plenty of cafes and all shops nearby. A short inexpensive ride in a 'petite taxi' to the coast and all its amenities. Dont have too high an expectation. This is a Moroccan hotel and the interior is local and stylish and very nice. Rooms are satisfactory. No English TV but air-con, mini-bar, shower and European toilets! Staff pleasant and helpful. ATM inside hotel.
“Faded Colonial Grandeur”
Comfortable, centrally located, incredibly friendly staff (although those on reception never looked pleased to see us), the hotel was lovely. Compared to European standards, some might be disappointed, but you can't help but get a sense of its former colonial glory, and we found its slightly down-at-heel ambience charming and elegant. For charm and location alone (not to mention the generous portion sizes), it is worth a visit.
“Not bad”
Close to old town off main street. Resturants close to hand. Breakfast is a little basic other wise food is reasonable in the hotel. Hotel is clean and you get the feel you are staying in Casablanc.
“Three and a half stars?”
First, the location of the hotel. Not ideal. The surrounding neighborhood is unclean, and high traffic very close by. The hotel lobby is beautiful, and so is the dining room. As far as the continental breakfast is concerned, it was highly satisfactory. Most of the personnel there is kind and professional. With one exception. When we arrived, exhausted, from our trip, we went to have dinner at the hotel. People there served us food without giving us a menu. They assumed we were part of the group of an organized trip. The food served was group food, pretty mediocre. But when it was discovered we were not part of aforementioned group, the manager (?) charged us an unfair amount of money (what they usually ask for their best menu). We complained twice. Now, the rooms. Beds were comfortable. And if you did not look at the carpet (which was in a run-down state), the decor was pleasant. But the equipment in the bathrooms was obsolete. The shower had to be fixed twice, and you could get hot water only at certain hours of the day.
“normal”
This hotel is OK for a few nights
“Not Impressed”
An old hotel that needs some rennovation and maintanance. That said rooms are spacious and decorated in a traditional style. Don't think the 4 star status is deserved at all as the service is also poor.
“Try another hotel”
Hotel is located in a historical building but the rooms are very old and the bathrooms do not seem clean. Also, there is a disco/nighclub in the hotel in which the clients are all male and the only females inside are there for prostitution. The breakfast is quite bad.
“Certainly not 4-star”
After flights delays, we arrived about midnight, for one night. The staff were adequately welcoming. The foyer and area have ben very finely restored and redecorated. The breakfast was adequate. What disappointed was our room: A smell of damp. The taps for both bath and wash basin would not turn off completely. The minibar door would not close because the fridge had not been defrosted for some time. The room and bathroom were gloomy and drab. A generally uncared-for feeling.
