“Lovely gem in Chicago with jeweled service!”
Hotel Felix exceeded my expectations! The building is an older brick one, just a few blocks from Michigan Avenue, but the interior is fairly new, modern with warmth. Great, smiling service from the start, from everyone inside and outside. My room was the perfect size with enough space to walk around, sleep, store my items and sit and enjoy the nice view of the Chicago skyline. The bathroom shower is gigantic: I wanted to luxuriate in it for hours. I did not eat at Hotel Felix but I enjoyed the free coffee in a a lobby sitting area that was warmed by a real fireplace.
“Design, Service and Comfort at a Surprisingly Low”
This was my first stay at the Hotel Felix. I'm very impressed by everything from the price and lay-out / cleanliness of the rooms to the overall design of the space and standards of service - and of course, the free wi-fi. Having arrived mid-evening it was great to find that there is a good restaurant on site which again feels like a destination (indeed a local friend tells me it is recognized locally as a good place to eat and drink) and which serves decent food. It also benefits from a very well stocked bar. Overall I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the downtown area - and based on my experience the price in January was remarkably good!
“Perfect hotel”
Great location, free parking if having a hybrid car (hotel is Ecco friendly). My future landing spot in Chicago without doubts. Staff: perfect.
“coupe great time!!”
We spend weekends in Chicago frequently. This was our first time at this hotel. We had a great time. We usually go to numerous restaurants and bars however the staff at the hotel bar and restaurant were so much fun we never left!!! It was a great time and we plan to go back soon.
“Love it!”
Clean, friendly and cozy! Right location to Starbucks, WHole Foods and Eggsxperience!
“Great Hotel”
there was construction next door but i never heard a sound from it. The rooms are small but why would you stay in your room when you are on vacation or traveling for business. The location was convenient for walking everywhere in downtown. Great restaurants were all around the hotel. I will stay there again next time I am in town. For the price, best hotel around.
“Awesome!!”
Great hotel! Perfect location, a few blocks away from the Mag. Mile. I can't say enough about the staff, and how accommodating they were. I traveled here for business by myself. Never having been to Chicago, I had lots of questions and they answered them all & did their best to help me. The rooms are small, but that's what you get when you stay right in the city. I stayed by myself, so it wasn't bad at all. The bathrooms are pretty big considering the room isn't the largest. My room had a queen bed, a desk, a flat screen TV, and two nightstands on each side of the bed....so it's small, but definitely NOT cramped. :) Everything is so clean, and so nice...it's worth the stay!
“Hotel Felix is a GREAT place to stay”
The only issues that I had with this hotel was the room size and the lack of free parking. They shove a queen sized bed, 2 nightstands, a desk/chair into a room that is the size of a small bedroom. If the desk would've have been removed and about 10 sq ft of space added, then the room would have been perfect. Also, there is a parking garage across the street but the cost to park there can be expensive depending on how many days you will be in the city ($24 overnight parking per day). Otherwise, it's a great place to stay. Close to a lot of restaurants, stores, pharmacies, and entertainment (all within walking distance). Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan are just a short drive up the street. Also, there is a restaurant/bar downstairs, a lounge, a spa, fitness center, and a nice seating area in the plush lobby with a fireplace. Great place to hang out with friends since there will be NO room for them in your hotel room. Overall, I would definitely stay there again when I go back to Chicago.
“May 2012”
The rooms are small, but we knew that when we booked. The location is great, just blocks from everything. The staff was friendly, hotel was very clean. The only thing that was odd, was that there was only an ice machine on even numbered floors.
“A wonderful place!!”
We had a fantastic experience at Hotel Felix and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The downstairs bar is very chic with great ambiance/music, and we got great restaurant tips from the gentleman at the front desk. Our room was spotless and comfy. Bravo!
