With a menu highlighting regional American comfort food with a twist, South Water Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. An on-site exercise room is open 24 hours, and guests receive discounted access to a health club 4 blocks away.
Hotel Monaco Chicago offers a variety of in-room spa treatments (surcharge; advanced reservations required), such as body treatments, facials, and manicures and pedicures. “Great Anniversary/Celebration Hotel!”
My husband and I just spent our first anniversary in Chicago and stayed at Hotel Monaco. What a great experience. The staff were amazingly accommodating. My husband had requested roses and champagne in the room upon arrival. They were there with a nice card welcoming us. The staff also took care of various other requests during our stay. The happy hour was a nice addition. And the concierge had great recommendations for various places to see/go/eat for our trip.

We had a corner river view suite, and it was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious and the Jacuzzi tub was very relaxing. We loved the window seats, and the overall comfort of the room.

Stayed here for St Patrick's Day, staff was great. Had a river view room which was spectacular, one thing to mention that you don't see in the pictures is that my room had an amazing window seat/cubby area that let you feel like you were basically relaxing on a balcony. Wine reception was also a nice touch.

Great stay.-- friendly and professional staff, excellent location, comfortable, well appointed room. Small touches like the evening wine tasting and the available yoga bag make it especially pleasant after a busy day.
“Kimpton Hotels are the BEST”
I stayed at a Kimpton Hotel in Virginia a few months ago--totally by accident. It was the most incredible stay at a hotel I've ever experienced. They rival the Ritz-Carlton in customer care. These hotels are great. Stayed at my second Kimpton recently in another city; same incredible experience. I now look for them when I travel.

I used to stay here years ago and had forgotten about this friendly and wonderful little hotel. I was then - and was again now - always pleased with the hotel, the staff, the room, the amenities, the location - it is a great find in downtown Chicago and I highly recommend it.
“Wonderful Hotel on the River”
We stayed at the Monaco over Memorial Day Weekend -- 2008. The staff was very professional and friendly. It's a quaint hotel a block off Michigan and near Millenium Park, the Art Institute, Chicago River, and Navy Pier. The hotel staff and the hotel welcomes you from the moment you enter the front lobby. We were very pleased with our room (comfort, size, cleanliness and decor). Our friends from Germany also stayed at the hotel and they loved it! I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will stay here on our next trip

Large, well appointed rooms Great location for shopping Michigan Ave.: Convenient to attractions- Museums,Navy Pier, Restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful-good Concierge Parking on site( for a fee)
