“Great but....”
My only complaint was that the valet parking wasv49.00 per night an we were not made aware of this also no free wifi, no fridge or microwave. Local calls were 2.00! Limo service that was free in their brochure was also not offered, no notice of that as well
“First rate hotel”
The room was the perfect size for someone who doesn't live out of their hotel while on a trip. The bed and its linens were like sleeping on a cloud. There were so many pleasant details: free shoe shine, a bathrobe, multitude of towels, friendly staff, convenient location. Excellent overall.
“Happy at the Whitehall”
The hotel had a very good bathroom and was exceptional for the price
“a gracious and comfortable hotel”
The Whitehall is particularly good for women travelling alone. The desk staff was careful NOT to say my room number aloud. Instead the courteous desk staff wrote the number down on the envelope that contained the room and mini-bar key. Throughout my stay, the staff was attentive and gracious. I was delighted with the menu and service at the hotel facilities. (Many other excellent options are also available nearby.) The hotel is 1/2 a block from the Hancock Tower and Michigan Avenue shopping, as well as bus and "EL" stops. Arriving in the middle of a snowstorm, I was surprised and happy to find that the hotel provides umbrellas for guests to "borrow." My traditionally furnished room was comfortable. This hotel provides quiet comfort when you need it, but is close to the excitement of Chicago. I recommend it highly.
“Enjoyed are stay .”
This was are first time in Chicago, we had a great time the hotel was a very pleasent experiance, we will be back.
“Great hotel”
Loved the quality, location, and well appointed room.
“Great Hotel - Superior Staff”
Staff very helpful and friendly.
“Enjoyed my stay at the Whitehall”
I find that downtown Chicago hotels can be a little rough, due to the large amount of tourists that move through this town on any given day -- but I was pleasantly surprised by the Whitehall Hotel. I had a large room, with big comfy 4 poster bed, and sitting area. Lovely and clean, great location. Ideal set-up for Michigan avenue holiday shopping! Only downside was the small lobby and long line to check in....
“Wonderful small old fashion hotel”
I very much enjoyed my stay at The Whitehall in Chicago, It is well maintained, in an excellent location, and has a nice ambience. My only complaint was that it only has two elevators and there can be long waits during peak hours. The lobby is small and can become very crowded. The restaurant is fine, but I was the only one eating there for lunch the day I arrived (a Saturday). The hotel seemed to be filled with either retirees, college kids or young professionals. An interesting mix! I certainly would stay there again. Good value for your money.
“Cosiest Bed around....”
we were very pleased with our stay at the Whitehall Hotel, it is close to everything and the staff were very friendly and informative about their big beautiful city...
