“Fantastic Hotel, but......”

This is a fantastic hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. I would definately visit again, my only complaint was the beds which were far too soft for my back, so i ended up sleeping on the floor in my room. other than that, it was a great stay, would definately go back again

“Very Nice Stay”

I came to visit Cologne for the Amphi festival. I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel which was quite close to the venue. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly though there was a language barrier at times, which is why I think it helps to try and learn some German. I had a problem with having to get room key cards activated on a daily basis. But this might have been because I thought I was staying on my own at first and the hotel just had me registered to the room. And a word of warning about roaming! I'd make sure if you are on contract that you contact your provider before going abroad to make sure that roaming is enabled. It cost me quite a lot of money calling home from the hotel room. I'd certainly go back again though.

“good, cheap hotel”

Excellent, basic hotel, very clean and comfortable. I would certainly stay there again. Breakfast was good, but don't get down too late if you want full choice. The hotel bar service isn't extensive or cheap, but adequaate if you just want a beer or coffee. Transport links are not brilliant, but a short walk down the side street, Gauss Strasse, and through a couple of others to the next main road brings you to the tram stop, where there is a very frequent service into town on the number 3 or 4.

“Good budget hotel”

A good reasonably priced hotel; clean and comfortable, with helpful staff. Within minites of central Cologne by public transport, and even closer to the Arena and Messe.

“Good value”

I stayed at this hotel because I was attending an event centred on the Messe. The location was very convenient for this and I thought the overall value for money of this hotel was very good. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is excellent. The staff were very helpful.Even ordered us a takeaway pizza when we arrived v. late after our plane was delayed. The rooms are quite small, but they are clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.

The only negative was they did not know how to get to their own hotel by auto from the autobaun

“Pleasant Budget Hotel”

Pros: The hotel is clean and the mattress and fixtures are all new. The staff are courteous and speak english well. The convention center (Messe) is nearby. Cons: The location is not near the tourist areas, the closest ubahn station is a 15-20 minute walk. There aren't any restaurants or shops too close by. In conclusion, if you are fine with walking a little distance to ride the u-bahn and you are looking for a clean, comfortable room to stay in for a fair price then look no further than the Prodomo.

“Nice hotel - but wear comfortable shoes!”

This hotel offered excellent value, the staff were pleasant and helpful, the restaurant was welcoming and the breakfast good. The only thing I have to say against it was that the location was not inviting. The hotel is next to a railway bridge (admittedly not a busy or noisy line) in a residential/industrial area and it was a very long walk into the city centre. We took a taxi to the station when we checked out and the staff were happy to call it for us but taxi fares are more expensive than in the UK. Not a good place to stay if it's important to you to be in the thick of things but if you don't mind the walk, it's a very good choice.

“Hotel Stay in Cologne (Koln)”

The hotel is amazingly new. The breakfast is a good start when you compare to other hotel breafasts in Germany. It is 4 blocks to the Cologne (Koln) Messe. You should give it a try. Try to get a room on the back side to avoide traffic noise. It is very clean and nice hotel.

“cozy”

The hotel was great for the price, we didn't mind walking a bit to get to things. They had an impressive breakfast for a german hotel, they spoke good english. Make sure you bring ear plugs though for sleeping, the traffic is quite noisy.
