Nice hotel on a budgetPosted Nov 14, 2013
Hotel clean, beds clean etc. Note: if you drink the bottled water they leave Inthe room you have to pay for it on leaving- I think 4euros, so bear that in mind as it doesn't say that. Breakfast and wifi included in our package, very handy and not all hotels have free wifi, or for both customers. Location a bit of a walk from train station (main hbf) and on a quiet side street so was a bit challenging to get there at night Inthe rain but once it was found it was an easy walk to shops/food places. Very limited uk channels on tv but the wifi made up for it really. Overall good stay just wish more tv channels! And wished I'd took a travel kettle as not one Inthe room.

Hidden away but close to the cityPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: In a quiet location but just a short walk from the main shops and sights. Had a very good buffet breakfast which set you up for the morning walk
Cons: Kettle in room for team and coffee on your return or as a wake up pick me up. Decor is a bit tired so maybe a brighten up in rooms would help
Location: Quiet side street with excellent pizza restaurant around far corner. Short walk to Cathedral, shops ,Rhine river ,museums, cafés. Good tram system
Hotel situated in a side street so quiet location. Had on site parking. A short walk to the Neumarkt area with shops restaurants etc. Easy walk to the Dom (cathedral) and the Rhine . Road train takes you around sights but be mindful the chocolate museum is closed on Mondays so stay on the train. Hotel very close to trams and underground if you want to explore further. We walked the length of the town and found lots to see and do. Visit Nutcracker Haus to see craftsmanship at its best. Bier museum,Mustard museum, Zoo.....you name it Cologne has it and all within walking distance of this hotel. Start the day with a plentiful buffet breakfast and just stop later for coffee and Berliners (a very tasty donut). Now we just need a visit for the Christmas Markets which I am certain will be exceptional

The friendly staff made our stay.Posted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: Staff. Receptionist 'Marco' was a personal favourite of mine and my girlfriend. Very pleasant manner, helpful and friendly.
Cons: More facilities - gym. More variety of food at breakfast - bacon?. Evening restaurant. To notify guests they have to pay for bottled water.
Location: Went to 'Champs' frequently, friendly staff and good cocktails. Lanxess Arena about 20-30 minutes walk. Shopping high street 5 minutes walk.
The hotel standard was generally good, location is convenient, shops and bars within walking distance, but the highlight was the staff, reception staff especially. My girlfriend and I were both fond of one staff member, Marco, who was very helpful and sociable. He made our stay easy and pleasant, and we always looked forward to being greeted by him when we returned from being out and about. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Cologne. My girlfriend and I will be staying here again when we visit Cologne again either later this year, or early next.

We were in the atticPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Looks like the building itself is old. They have renovated only the reception but the rooms are very old-fashioned.
Location: We took a cab to Cologne Cathedral which was about 3 km away.
We reached the hotel late night and we were given room keys to the room in third floor. After some struggle, we opened the door to see an outdated room with windows high above us. It was nothing like in the pictures. They had kept the window open and it was freezing inside. We were in the attic. We settled in our beds only to discover that one of the beds was made of 3 separate pieces. It was so very uncomfortable to sleep on disconnected pieces. The bathroom was murky and the shower space was strange. It was a half tub and we had to hop in to take shower. The breakfast was very basic. They did not have croissants. The fruits were not fresh.

Great for those who aren't going OTT.Posted Sep 17, 2013
Overall I'd say the hotel was fantastic for our group, the rooms were adequately spacious, the bathroom facilities were brilliant (apart from the hair dryer) and the staff were very friendly indeed. The breakfast buffet was nice, wasn't extensive with the lack of hot food, but what was available was very well done. The location itself was very close to a lot of supermarkets, cafes and bars alike and was in easy walking distance of the main hub of the city itself. Brilliant stay, and a lovely place to rest.

My experience at Leonet HotelPosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: Excluding the staff - nothing.
Cons: Everything, a disappointment for a country like Germans. The nation who has great pride in everything.
Location: Good location, lovely restaurants. Easy access to the City centre. Visit to chocolate factory, Boat ride on River Rhine. Shopping. The famous Dome.
We booked two rooms and one room was the size of a cupboard. Our stay was for 4 nights and after complaining, on the second night my son and his wife was moved to a more convenient room. It was my daughter in laws first visit to Germany and as my husband was born in the Country and being frequent visitors my daughter in law was really disappointed and made it known to us that it was the worse hotel she had stayed in. The rooms were like a sauna, the temperature in Cologne was in the early 30's and without an aircon made it impossible to sleep. Their was no fan in the bathroom, so not a pleasant smell. The highlight was the mattress on the side my husband slept had a ditch in the centre. After a few days of this he had was in agony suffering from back pain and when back in our native land he consulted a doctor. We asked for ice on the first night as their was no bar fridge but "surprise" the hotel had no ice.

room not as shown! staff and location very goodPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: staff and location
Cons: room décor and more comfort in rooms
Location: location on main transport route, so accessibility to all good food areas and main attractions
staff very good, gave all help needed. location in a good quiet area but near to all amenities. room was the disappointment as not as shown when looking, looked tired and dated. room décor sadly very tired and shabby. shower difficult to use if any mobility issues as a 2 foot climb in and out. on the whole would recommend for location and staff not for overall comfort in your room,

Pros: A nice old type breakfast room, pictures adorning wall, a good buffet with selective choice. Reception area was pleasant with helpful staff.
Cons: For the price I paid it was very good value for a few days - there's no pretty views just the noise from the dustbin, and noise late Saturday evening.
Location: Two tram stops to the Dom - Tram stop just two streets away a 5 minute walk. Lots of local shops and supermarkets near by. cafe's and restaurants.
When arrived it was quite noisy outside my room, because there was workmen out side for two days of my five day stay. The view is the dustbins and you can often hear the bins being opened and closed. The room was very basic but comfortable.. Cleaners came in every day to change the bedding and towels, it was kept quite clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is not very conveniently located. It is rather seedy. Staff was not particularly helpful. We were asked to check out at 11:00 a.m. which is very inconvenient. The breakfast though was good. Cleanliness can be improved by renovation and additional facilities. However, for the cost, which included breakfast, it was not such a bad deal.

Overall the hotel was nice, esp for the price I paid, though the room was abit small. Staff were friendly. Good location, close to u-bahn and trams
