“Great local experience”
Claussen's is set in the middle of a great dining district, with great local restaurants surrounding the site. That makes parking interesting, but the staff handled that beautifully, even with our arrival in the midst of Friday evening peak dining hour. Breakfast was great, and helped make for a great 'local' experience.
“So Cute”
This hotel was very cute. It was in an old building, but the inside was done up so nice. Every room was different. Our bed was big and had a great mattress. The shower was the "rain" kind. I would stay at this hotel everytime I'm in the area. Great Boutique Hotel.
“Excellent change of pace.”
Great little hotel makes for a wonderful change of pace. Located at 5 Points and lots of local character. Tastefully decorated. A nice change.
“One of the best acommidations I have stayed in.”
The clerk who checked me in was very friendly. The room was very clean and tidy. Nice view and I ate at the restraurant next door and it was a fine meal. The lady who took me my breakfast was very sweet. All and all it was a very pleasant experience.
“"A Gem in the big city"”
This was our second stay at the Inn at Claussen's and their catch phase is 'B&B on steroids' this is true. Sometimes you do find a gem when we go away from the bigger chain hotels. The beds were comfortable, all the rooms are different, great location, near to shops, cafes & restaurants. The breakfast is to die for, none of this self served stuff, you choose from a list and it's brought to your room. You also get a complimentary glass of wine, every night.
“Great inn in five-points”
The lobby was nice with its soothing fountain. The room was large, nicely-furnished and clean. I liked having breakfast delivered to the room. Staff offered wine and hot chocolate in the evening, which was very nice after a long day. The location, in Five Points, was good for shopping and dining, all within a short walking distance. The only minor complaint was that the TV picture quality was a little fuzzy.
“Walking Distance to 5 Points”
The Claussen was a very unique hotel, an old bakery converted into a hotel. It was small and comfortable. The shower had amazing water pressure and the bed was comfortable!
“Would Return”
I would not have any problem recommending the INN and will likely stay there again in the near future. They are going through remodeling so there is an interesting mix of "modern new" and "older more bed and breakfast feel". The rooms are very large and very clean. The morning breakfast delivered to your door is a fantastic treat and the evening wine is enjoyable. Location is very convenient to a lot of dining choices.
“Wish it wasn't booked already for my next stay in SC!”
Skeptical at first because of the outside appearance, but a wonderful surprise once we got inside. The staff was wonderful and so was the food and atmosphere. Would stay again!
“Lovely small hotel”
Clever transformation of old bakery into small hotel with large rooms. Surrounding neighborhood kind of rundown. Very clean rooms and excellent service. Will definitely stay there again.
