“very nice hotel great bar at kokos”
hotel was exactly as we expected and the bar was great!
“Excellent management!”
This was the 5th hotel in our road trip and we were so impressed that we tried to change plans at our last destination to find another HIE but it was full ( no wonder! ). These guys really run a tight ship. The whole building was immaculate. Our service was top notch, great food for the free breakfast. I will be searching for HIE next time I travel.

The hotel was clean and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The indoor jacuzzi and pool were wonderful when it was 2 degrees outside. Cortez is a small town so the hotel wasn't fancy but it was comfortable and everything looked new. The view from the glass elevator is spectacular. The only thing I would like to see improved on is the continental breakfast. While the staff was very nice, the food was a bit bland and boring. The eggs especially weren't very good. But on the good side, there is a Denny's next door! Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Express Mesa Verde, CO.
“Good Base for exploring Mesa Verde National Park”
Cortez was a good choice for exploring Mesa Verde National Park. The Holiday Inn Express was comfortable and clean and had plenty of easy parking. The included breakfast was good though there wasn't really enough seating at the time I was there and I ended up eating outside which was rather cold.

We used this hotel because of it's proximity to Mesa Verde and were very impressed with it's service, cleanliness, and comfort. We would definately use this hotel again. Nice, clean hotel; clean, comfortable rooms; responsive room service; and great selection included in the tasty breakfast. Very, very nice hotel.
“NICE HOTEL, IF YOU ARE ON THE TOP FLOOR”
I had a room on the first floor, and the room was nice, comfortable beds, very clean, but when the people upstairs got up at 5am the floor squeeked and popped and they were not even walking heavy. An obvious design flaw in this newer hotel. If you are going to stay here be sure and get a room on the top floor!
