“can only say, it was great”
cannot say enough nice things about this hotel, just returned yesterday 7/7/09.staff & service was the best of any resort i have ever been to.went scuba diving 6 days, dive paradise is great..food was great, not 5 star but i did not pay for 5 star..resort far exceeded my expectations..
“Good spot for a dive trip”
The Hotel is clean and functional. The plumbing might just be installed with 'Mexican slop', but all works alright. Tiles are all over the place, which makes it compatible with diving ("Paradise Divers" in-house). The personnel is very friendly and helpful, and the location is just far enough south to reach the good dive spots quickly and just far enough north to be able to walk (20 min.) to downtown San Miguel conveniently. Diving was great, and the amenities for divers (beach lockers, rinse pools, beach showers, drying racks) made all very easy.
“This is a great place for families to stay”
My family just returned and I can say that this is a great hotel if you have kids. The employees are very very nice to everyone as are most people on the island. The waiters at the pool are good, and the buffet staff is on top things. The pool is huge with lots of other kids for your kids to play with, including staff organized basketball, volleyball, and polo. The mattresses on the beds are a little on the old side but the rooms are clean and cool. Have fun if you go to cozumel at the Hotel cozumel resort
“Our favorite Cozumel Hotel”
We have been to Cozumel several times and stayed at other hotels but Hotel Cozumel is our favorite! We have stayed there several differant years and plan on staying there from now on. We love the location being close to downtown and the grocery stores. The pool is great for the little ones and the staff is wonderful, very friendly and very accomodating. It has beach access and diving facilities. We have stayed with Hotel Cozumel before hurricane Wilma, right after the hurricane, and every year since and are happy to see Hotel Cozumel florishing with many positve changes and building additions in progress! We love to go to Cozumel because it is laid back , NOT a bustling party town, not an over priced snooty town, with plenty of things to do. Hotel Cozumel eminates our reasons for going to Cozumel.
“Scuba Divers perfect place to stay!”
The ONLY complaint was that the pool was cold and the hot tub was cool. Other than that, it was a wonderful place to stay for a scuba diving trip!! Great food, friendly employees, beautiful pool, easy access for scuba diving and, of course, great drinks!
“Will definitely go back! Great for the price!”
2nd time staying there; love location-close to downtown; easy access to dive shop; food improved from last visit in 2005; staff extremely friendly and helpful; will definitely go back next time we visit Cozumel!
“No Surprises”
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel and my experience was pleasant both times. The hotel is kept very clean, there's a nice pool, purified water coolers on every floor and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was so so but the nice thing about this hotel is that it's within walking distance from town so you can experience a new restaurant every night. Overall, this hotel is great if you're not looking to spend a ton of money. There's not a lot of extras but it gets the job done.
“Nice place to stay in Cozumel/Especially for SCUBA divers”
Skip the welcome drink given at check-in - I think its Gatorade with ice. Otherwise the hotel was very comfortable. Bathroom in our room with two double beds was abit small but the only complaint. Hotel was very clean, pool was very nice and very large, big enough to do lap swimming from one end to the next. We had a view overlooking the pool, which was nice. The hotel is located across the street from the beach, and one has to cross over to the beach club/restaurant to go there. Since the weather was abit nasty - read very windy, rainy, overcast the whole time we were there - it didn't matter much. We were there for the SCUBA diving and the Paradise Dive shop in the same building as the club was great. You can sign up to take trips from there to all the reefs and the prices were reasonable - say $50-60 for a two tank trip per person. Alternatively, just rent a tank for $6/each and dive right off of the docks - water everywhere was clear up to 80-100 feet. We had some equipment problems and they fixed them within a few hours. We did the American breakfast plan only - a great morning buffet of all sorts of things and especially all the fresh squeezed OJ you could drink - YUM! Food elsewhere in town - which is close enough to walk to was so-so, like most of Mexico if you want a good meal/margarita go to Texas!
“You'll Be Seeing Us Again!”
We had a great time at your resort. There were 6 of us staying at Hotel cozumel, all are scuba divers. It is a great place to stay for dive trips. Paradise Reef dive shop across the road took great care of our diving needs. For a great dive master, ask for Marrten.I liked how you could walk to the shore under the road, so you didn't have to cross a busy street. The Hotel was a great place to relax afterwards. The meals were really good and the wait staff, excellent. Go all inclusive, It is worth the extra. We'll be seeing you again, soon. Cozumel is the best place to dive.
“LOVED Hotel Cozumel!”
I can't tell you how much I fell in love with this place! After reading reviews here, I didn't have high expectations. I've stayed at a Sandals and it definitely is NOT a Sandals, but the food was great, the pool was awesome, the staff was friendly and fun and the hotel was beautiful! For the price, you can't beat it! The a/c in the room could have been better, and we requested a king bed and got two doubles, but other than that, no complaints! I'll definitely be back!
