“"Beautiful area"”

The season was ending, but the people were still very accommodating.

“**Rooms R Small**”

Had a nice time in Denali, hotel had very nice views of the mountains and river (not from our room). Nice hot tub set-up out side, it viewed out to the mountains and river. The transportation to and from the train depot to the hotel was great (fast and easy). Very nice place to stay but there standard rooms are small and very much standard.

“Beautiful views, but kind of like being on a Cruise Ship”

This hotel has everything you need (kind of like a cruise ship, which I try to avoid) --- but I suggest leaving the hotel and trying the shops and restaurants across the street. The locally owned restaurants are great (like the Crow's Nest), as are the local shops. The breakfast in the Lodge was totally mediocre and very overpriced! The bar in the Lodge of the hotel is great though --- great view, fabulous bartender (Rod).

“Good choice”

We found the Princess Wilderness Lodge a very good choice, well maintained and comfortable. The Lodge has a number of eating venues located in verious buildings within the complex which offered variety and good quality meals at competitive prices. The Lodge provides an effective hospitality bus to the Denali Visitors Centre. The Lodge is a stopping point for many other bus services which made logistics easy.

“Not impressed”

The majority of the visitors to this hotel were over the age of 70. This resort is very bare bones for the price that was paid per night. There were no special amenities. Since this is near a national park we expected to have a refrigerator and easy access to box lunches for hiking.

“Not what I expected”

For the cost, I was surprised with what I got. The room was very small and sloped away from the door, enough so that we slept with our feet at the head of the bed so as to not feel upside down in bed. The lodge is very nice with lots of eating options, but for the price I don't think you get your money's worth given how small the rooms were.

“Not Impressed”

Hotel room was VERY small. Enough room for a king size bed, 1 small table and 2 chairs. Small TV, also. The bathroom tub did not drain, hotel staff did not come out to fix it. Housekeeping was knocking on the doors at 0800 to start cleaning; as soon as guests were departing, rooms were cleared out and booked again. This is a beautiful resort-type hotel with gift shops on the property, but there are not enough staff on hand to service the needs of all the guests. Upon calling to the front desk, the staff was not knowledgable and acted inconvenienced to answer a question. I would not stay at this hotel again.

“poorly trained staff”

Most of the staff that we encountered were not helpful in the least. The area has become a major tourist trap with nothing but gift shops full of stuff made in China and a few very expensive excursions.
