“Super hotel in great setting”
Went to Buxton to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary having honeymooned there all those years ago. Looked at the hotel we originally stayed in but decided to go for something that looked better and was not much more. We stayed in the Chateau part of the property - an older mansion now converted to luxury contemporary apartments. Whole place was fabulous - spotless, high quality apartment with lots of amenities, including inclusive wi-fi, in a lovely setting. Easy walk to centre of Buxton. Would definitely go again.
“Better than my house!!!!”
Tucked away at the top of Buxton, these apartments are absolutely beautiful. We only spent one night but will definately go back for a longer stay. They are fully fitted with high spec appliances and very tastefully decorated. The hotel bar is also excellent. The staff were eager to meet all of our needs.
“Lovely accomodation”
Lovely apartment - very high spec with everything you need. Cannot fault it, excellent value and perfect location
“buxton 2010”
Although the apartment was exceptional and very comfortable we were a little disappointed to find that although it was advertised as having maid service ,it was only after we arrived back the first morning that we found maid service is only offered on stays of more than 3 days.Therefore unless you take washing powder and wash your towels you have to endure using the same ones for the length of your stay.It was also advertised that there was a dvd and cd player in the apartment but when we arrived this was not the case.After we called the guy in when we had problems emptying the bath tub he said he would check on this but he never came back to us just simply pointed out that we had a sauna shower which wasnt advertised.Not sure what difference that made!!!Anyway all that said the apartment and Wye house are great and i would definately return obviously knowing what to expect or not next time.
“Great Location and a good price”
We stayed in the 5* appartments with 2 double bedrooms and and a double mezzzanine floor overlooking the lounge. Wonderful leather corner sofas, glass dining table and chairs, plasma TV and wonderfulk views across Buxton to the hills. Superbly fitted large kitchen and luxurious bathroom fittings made this a wonderful place to come back to after a long day exploring the many local historic houses and superbs walks. It was lovely to be able to cook a breakfast or make a cup of tea and wash and dry muddy cloths! I have stayed in many so called 5* hotels without feeling as comfortable as I did at Wye House. Get there while you can!
“Disgusting”
Difficult to locate the hotel,no signage,no reception area,no concierge,no lifts,poor cleanliness ,no wi-fi,no toiletries,no bathrobes,shabby bedding,carpets stained,no toilet roll holders,curtains reminded me of cheap bed sheets and did not keep out the light,note posted on the dishwasher saying that the dishwasher was not working, microwave and oven had not been cleaned and this was in the penthouse apartment and rated five star on the Expedia site.We would rate this as a hovel not fit to be marketed as accomadation .
