Excellant food,ambiance and rooms Staff is really polite and courtious

Excellent hotel on a good quiet road in an upmarket area of Alwarpet. The staff were some of the best I've experienced at hotels in India- I would say the level of service received was a big contributing factor in making this stay so enjoyable. The food at the restaurant is also quite decent and the swimming pool on the roof is very pleasant. I have stayed at other hotels in Chennai and is by far the best in this price bracket. I will definitely stay here again.

For the price a very good find. Centrally located, helpful staff, excellent inclusive breakfast and clean. Very busy but well organised.The restaurants all served excellent food, (Indian obviously), and the water in bathrooms was hot!

We stayed at the Taj at the end of our 3 week trip to India and it was the perfect way to finish up. Amazing service and great facilities. While the prices of things are relatively expensive, it's worth it!

Very well kept hotel. The staff on the front desk were extremely helpful in arranging transport for us and confirming the details when our flights were rescheduled.

I am touring India for two months and I wanted to celebrate my half-way milestone with five nights in luxury. Now, I am used to European business class hotels, so the biggest surprise was the amount and the helpfulness of all of the staff members. Well done Oberoi! The location and the standard of the hotel is just excellent, there is no other word to describe it. I chose this hotel only because of it's #1 Tripadvisor ranking. Well, it helped that I got a good deal online for the room with a city view. The pool and the pool bar were very inviting and the service again first class. The breakfast buffet was very much Indian, but looking at the clientele, that is totally understandable. I ate at the Thai restaurant twice and the bhekti fish was really worth every penny. There was one issue as the high-speed wifi in the room #333 was not fast enough to make a video call and the staff offered to increase the speed for next day. However I could not arrange another video call and the staff responded the only acceptable way, by not charging for my session. The entrance to the hotel is right on a busy market street, so beware of pickpockets and touts claiming to be Oberoi staff off-duty. I would love to stay here again.
