“Pleasantly surprised”

I had never stayed in an Extended Stay hotel before so I didn't know what to expect. The hotel staff was extremely courteous, the rooms were comfortable and quiet and the wireless Internet connection worked great.

“Good place to rest”

I just needed a getaway with a few amenities that you would find at home...and the Extended Stay Hotel gave me what i needed...a comfortable bed, quiet, and a friendly staff.

“Would stay there again”

Good place. No oven like we thought there would be, but a clean room in a convenient location.

The only benefit to this hotel was the fact it was a block from where i needed to be. The entire place smelled of stale smoke, the bathroom was so small the door cleared the toilet by half an inch. The door to the stairwell appeared to have a bullet hole in the glass. Need i say more??

“One night in Detroit - Sterling Heights”

We checked in late on a Saturday night - we were staying in Detroit for the night because we were getting family photos taken the next day & going to a Tigers game. When we pulled into parking lot it was @ 10pm and one of the light posts in the parking lot was making an extremely loud noise like a siren or tornado horn. I asked the girl at the front desk and she said that it couldn't be fixed until Monday. I was hoping our room was not near this light since it was right next to one corner of the hotel and thankfully our room not. Check in took 2 minutes which was nice. When we walked into our room with our 3 young children (ages 4, 6, & 8) The room smelled terribly like cigarette smoke. It was so bad that all of our clothes and bags smelled like the smoke when we returned home from the weekend. The room also hadn't had any air circulating at all, therefore the temperature of the room was about 85 degrees. I walked back to the front desk to request a move. The only person at front desk now was an Asian custodian who told me that no one smokes in the hotel and there were not any rooms left in the whole place. She basically was blowing me off. There were only 15 cars in the parking lot so no way the hotel was full. She couldn't care less that we were not happy about the smell of smoke (the smoke smell was a 9 out of 10 on a rating scale.) There were also many cigarette burns on the bath tub. Several more problems but running out of characters. I would look else where.

“First and Last Time at an Extended Stay America”

Our room smelled like smoke. The window was open in our room to air it out, which meant the air conditioning wasn't on and temperatures were in the 80s and 90s. The whole place smelled like curry - even our sheets. When you walk down the main hallways you can hear guests talking in their rooms - the walls are paper thin.
